This is correct, even Craig Button said this last year. Frost is just not consistent and his skillset is not translating to the NHL. All this nonsense about moving his feet and playing off the puck is just that, nonsense! No one would be saying anything about this if Frost was putting up points and making plays every night. However I hope Torts keeps this line together so we can once and for all put this topic to bed! - jd250
But he won’t

yes....can't wait for the underlying numbers talk, but think he was one of the worst on the ice in that regard last night. Had better wingers too.

Hextall left this organization with plenty of assets. He was just too stupid to build a proper development staff and he tied himself to a coach who used a system that didn’t benefit from skilled players and was easily countered by opposing teams.
Imagine if we gave the minutes used on Manning Hagg Macdonald filpula vandevelde goulbourne Rinaldo weise lehtera to real hockey players…. It’s a travesty what Dave Hakstol did to this organization. And Hextall allowed it while assembling a talent pool that was rated top 5 in the league by nearly every rating metric and media outlet.
Hextall was bad for the Flyers, but the near decade run of first Hakstol as coach then Fletcher as GM has taken what was a pillar franchise of the NHL and turned it into retirement village for players and front office personnel. If Bettman wasn’t such a moron that is in love with “hockey in the desert” he could see the crater in Hockey Related Revenue caused by the ineptitude of Dave Scott, Comcast, Clarkie and the boys and Fletcher.
Opposing team operations could always count on a full building when the Flyers came to town and now the Flyers fan base has been beaten down by so much ignorance, stupidity and lies that watching it continue in person or on screen feels like an affront to our dignity.
Fire everybody…. Immediately - Shrike Were these not the players the GM provided the coach? What other options did he have? Granted he may have over played some like the current coach is doing.

I wasn't able to see the game, but the data suggests strongly that he and his linemates did not have a good game.

After the 3rd odd man rush that resulted in a goal, I shut it off. The team really isn't watchable right now. I feel sorry for those who have season tickets. |

I caught the one Tippett turnover that led to a goal and that was it. |

He just gets bumped off the puck so easily, and he seems tentative to get to the hard places on the ice. Add this to the lack of finish and his poor faceoff skills, I just don't see Frost making it. If Couturier ever comes back, having him play with Farabee and tippet is something to look forward to. Better yet, Bedard centering those two would be euphoric! |

The line overall struggled but I think it was more to do with the type of game it was. Both the Flyers and Flames played a tight game, there was not a lot of space out there and not many chances to accelerate in the neutral zone. It was essentially a 3-2 game, tight checking and low shot totals.

Tippett skated well and was engaged but he had the TO and he missed the net a few times and the puck went the other way. On the PP the Flyers would finally get set up in the zone and it would short circuit the play, the ended up chasing they puck a good bit. Frost did some good forechecking, broke up some plays, he needs to finish, they need to finish. Put Cates/Frost/Tippet back together and lets see what we get. |

The Flyers tightened it up after that, but once again it appeared the Flyers were not ready to play at 7:10pm local time. |

Is it safe to conclude Hayes is not a Tort's type of player and Fletcher will be looking to trade him in the off-season? |

No problem for me. A mere 3 points away from being in the top 5. More interested in seeing the Phantoms development. The Flyers can continue to be the raging dumpster fire.

I’m too tired of trying to convince the few remaining holdouts that Hakstol was terrible. Enjoy your bliss. |

It doesn't take much energy. You can start with telling me what Hakstol's system was that you posted was part of the issue.

Yes to the first question.
Hopefully he's not the one making the call by the off-season is the 2nd question.

Amen to that. I have had my fill of this dumpster fire. I'd love to see him canned by XMAS but highly doubt that. |
