Same people who were whining that Tippet sucks after a few games last year. No patience...yet they will be on here asking the Flyers to go get some other reclamation who has the exact same development challenges and not see the irony - juiced
I don’t think they have much of a choice but to be patient. Part of Tippets issue is that he was being blocked by a lot of skilled NHL players. Frost doesn’t have that issue. They need to give a good month a half…not every game is going to be a Picasso. |

No question. Tippet was part of the crap return that Fletcher got from Florida when he was fleeced in the trade. Looks like he has the potential to be a good player to me. - MJL
He does and surprisingly it was like a switch flipped vs a gentle ramp up.
Frost has all the skills he needs, skating, passing, decent shot and release. It feels like when he finally "gets it", its going to flip like a switch as well.
Could he never make the turn? Absolutely but he is a consistent victim of switching his wingers left and right. Using last nights game when he is the defacto #1 line vs. Calgary's top lines is idiocy. He isnt a #1 center and nobody here has ever said he is...exhausting

Honestly, I'm ready for scorched earth with this organization. Fire everyone and start over. - rayc16
Unfortunately they have way to many contracts they couldn’t move to achieve that. Then again if a few more guys get hurt then it really won’t matter. They may be at scorched earth with out even trying. |

That is definitely a good point and it's really a hindrance right now. Tortorella doesn't have many options so it's a catch 22 in the current situation. If Frost is going to get the minutes he needs with the current lineup. He is going to see some tough matchups.

He is going to face tough minutes for sure, but maybe it will be a blessing in disguise if Torts is patient enough. He may be forced to play at a pace he is mildly uncomfortable with or at least be on the ice when the other lines are doing it to him. Maybe that pounds things home. Im an eternal optimist and im rooting for the kid |

When he plays with skill players on a line that has the puck more, he has no problem playing with pace. He is just not going to be effective playing with checkers. He's a skill player who needs the puck to be effective. He's done everything that the coaches have asked of him. He deserves to have a long-term opportunity to play with better linemates in better situations. |

Easy for me to forget how far they are lacking in forward talent. How many fwds currently playing would play in a top 9 role on a playoff team? I think Hayes and Farabee are safe bets. After that maybe Tippett. A stretch maybe Cates. Reviewing injured players who could return this season. TK, Laughton, and Atkinson - safe bet. JVR- probably. So 5 out of 9 possible slots filled. Offense is brutal and really no end in sight. Keep the tank going. |

Jackson Cates recalled for Laughton. Two week time table for Laughton seems sketchy at best. |

More misery from the 365 day a year grievance man. You need to get past the airing of grievances part of Festivus and buy yourself a festivus pole. |

Exciting injury update really. I wonder if 2 weeks for Laughton really means check the morgue for updates.
I'd really like to know what's up with Atkinson. Very bizarre. Still week to week but as I understand it, he's in voohees skating with the other injured players correct? |

Right now I’d say they don’t have a legit top 9 player available except maybe Hayes. If everyone were healthy I’d say Atkinson and TK, maybe Couturier but I’m doubtful that he’ll ever return to previous form. I can’t include Ellis because I don’t believe he’ll ever play again. I think last year’s version of Farabee was a top 9 player. Not so sure this year. |

Once I saw the Flyers lineup for last night's game, I knew it was going to be a long night. Right now the only bright spot is watching Tippett on the ice. He is young and still making mistakes, but he's fun to watch. |

Yes, supposedly skating, but week to week with Atkinson. I'm going to speculate and believe it is concussion related. I remember the end of Primeau's career. He took time on his recovery, but when he started to skate and elevated his heart rate the headaches would return. My point being all concussion recoveries are not the same. And unfortunately, there can be no recovery to resume playing. I certainly hope the best for Cam. I do hope Laughton takes extra time to recover. No rush to come back with this dumpster fire.

It doesn't if it's a shoulder/collarbone injury, rather than a concussion.

Apparently it's his labrum. If he gets surgery, he's out till next season, so they are trying to avoid that. |

As we approach the four year anniversary of Chuck Fletcher being hired as the Flyers GM, it's worthwhile to look at his results. Spoiler alert - they are bad.
Flyers are 124-123-36 (.502) since 12/4/2018. That's 22nd overall.
2.87 GF/GP - 19th overall
3.3 GA/GP - 26th overall
Net PP% of 13.7 - 27th overall
Net PK% of 80.2% - 27th overall

What I love about Tippet is when he makes a mistake, he is racing back to find a way to correct it. He really is playing in all zones and skating hard, and shooting more, really embracing the shoot first mentality. |

Yeah I wish the best for him but it's puzzling. Did he receive a concussion at training camp in practice you think? I don't think he got into a preseason game.
On another note, Martin Jones named one of 3 stars of the week haha.. Maybe he wasn't so bad after all and it might have been the team in front of him after all? I know he went to the power house Kraken and all but just sayin.. I think we might want to remember that when we look at Hart.. |

During the broadcast they commented that the back of Laughton's head hit the ice. It would be great if he was not concussed. |
