Personally, outside of the first line? Anderson was one of the few making an impact. Just my opinion, though. And get used to bottom 2 D pairs rotating in and out. MSL wants to keep them all fresh and engaged. Besides, it adds a level of complete amongst the D to stay in the lineup. - Darksyde
Edmundson and Matheson were the biggest problems (up until 5-2, then I turned off the game).
They were just poop. A train wreck.
Particularly Edmundson.
Thye need to be split up, not working well at all together.
I though Anderson was OK, but the team struggled as a whole, too. How many times did they turn over the puck trying to get out of their own zone, giving the Sabres great scoring chances? That is not all on the defence... |

As painful as it is to watch and I watched most of the game on FF, but it is obvious we are lacking talent outside of the top line.
My friends think its odd that im cheering for losses, but its got to happen. You dont get the ELC superstars via trade you have to suck, and it sucks

Rebuilds take a few years. The Devils are a good example of that. They just turned a corner after sucking for many years.
They have some key pieces, two of wich were trades by the way (suzuki, dach). I think the left side of the d is promising. We will see about the right side (Barron, Mailloux come to mind).
And dont forget that Slaf is a number one pick overall. You don't get those every years. Unless you are the Oilers I guess. |

ugh, don't tell me you're one of them? that's because it is odd...
of course I'll be happy if they draft a good player next year, doesn't mean I have to actually cheer for them to lose. I find it's kind of unnecessary, but whatever floats your boat I guess

How can enjoy a game then? Just watch the boxscore after it.
It's not like they will lose more if you cheer for them to do so, lol. |

pretty much the way I see it as well. I think the mindset though is that they see drafting in the top 5 as an objective, whereas I see it more as a nice consolation prize. I guess being "happy" about a loss isn't such a turrible thing, it's when people get frustrated because of too many wins that I find it gets weird and kind of annoying loll.

If we win im happy as well, just not as much as a loss lol.
Would I rather win games this year and HOPE anything can happen or suffer through the year and be confident things can happen ikn the following years and for years to come.
Its nice to have a bunch of players rated 80-90 but to win you need 1 or 2 rated 90+

not sure who asked me about Habs' depth at the goalie position earlier last week.
here's 1 of the 2 good prospects they have.
https://www.lapresse.ca/s...lere-pour-jakub-dobes.php - fidopro
I guess the other good prospect you're referring to is Frederik Dichow..? it's nice to have a couple of potential upcoming goalies, but knowing how uncertain the future can be for that position the habs will probably be looking to add more. it definitely isn't over yet for Primeau either but the talent pool is currently rather thin.

Look where Suzuki, Caufield and Guhle have been drafted. All of them are better then some top 5 picks that we have seen in past years.
If anything having more 1st round picks might be better than picking early, unless you get Bedard I guess.
Even the guys who say they want to watch the kids may not realize the irony of cheering for lost. If mtl winning more often than not, it means the kids are doing well. If mtl start to lose, it means the kids are struggling.... |

I get what you're saying but that isn't necessarily the case, last night, Allen, Edmundson and Matheson are veterans and were among those that were struggling the most.
also, apparently the draft will be especially deep next year, and any guy in the top 3 will basically be a "sure shot", from my understanding. |

they do, but maybe not "la crème de la crème", which can be really helpful to have to become a true contender.

Slaf is a 1st overall pick and may end up there as well

Tage Thompson is 25 and had his breakout year at 24 after being traded.
I hope they are patient with Slaf. |

of course not, but that's what I was saying, the next draft should be particularly deep, and if the habs could grab a guy of that caliber, it would be amazing.
I still think the habs can be fine though and build a winning team by picking in the top 10, and continuing to draft and develop players the way they currently are.

Well at least the GM isn’t trading away quality assets for soft over rated forwards.
So there’s that.. |

I really think they will, I don't see Hughes or Gorton losing patience too early on him, there's no current rush anyway.

Ya was thinking the same on Anderson, it was a very odd coment with a earth shattering solution at the end :
sit Wideman
lol, that will show them and solve everything
Thoses games are to be expected and not the end of the world, the intresting part is how they react to it tonight ! |
