Timmy Superstar on pace for 90 point season. Serious shot at getting to 100 points if he can ramp it up a little.

Wonderful timing on his penalties last night though.
And his ability to "dive himself" right out of the play was also on display.

Additionally the coach, concerned about a possible winning streak reverted back to overplaying his 3rd and 4th lines. A couple of those panic, run around goals had the Watson line on. Pathetic coach. DO WHAT EVERY ONE ELSE DOES---YOU DON'T KNOW BETTER!!!!!!

I watched a bit of the press conference from DJ post game, and I saw something that I haven’t in a while. He took the accountability for the crummy start to the game. I was surprised. Perhaps he is starting to realize he needs to be proactive himself for positive results.

I have trouble seeing that being true, given that Boeser is a natural RH shot RW, which they already have in Batherson, Giroux, and DeBrincat (who's usually played on his off-wing). So it would just be adding to a positional logjam, unless it's part of a massive 3-way deal of some kind.

ohhhhh NOW they call up Heatherington.

After pretty much every fan rolled their eyes at Zaitsev again being chained to Chabbot.

I think Sens are going to need to make some very fundamental decisions about how this team should evolve. Core group is Brady, Timmy, Chabot, Sanderson, Norris and Batherson. Good chance Pinto and Grieg get pencilled in as well. Harder choices become apparent when they try to figure in on how to provide for Giroux, DeBrincat and Zub.

Sens just don't have any space for another top six skater expecting a high end contract unless either DeBrincat or Giroux moves on.

So, my priority in terms of new spending starts with the D and includes a new contract for Zub and a shut down physical presence to play top 4.

You're right on here. Sign Zub, find another D but a good one, hold onto Giroux and get what you can for DeBrincat at the deadline.

I think Pinto is a keeper and I used to feel that way about Greig but I'm starting to think he may be too small to play his game in the NHL.

The core isn't really in dispute, as Tkachuk, Stutzle, Norris, Batherson, Chabot, and Sanderson cover off the #1C, #2C, #1LW, #1RW, #1D, #2D spots pretty effectively. What they need is the supporting depth to take it over the line, which includes a #3D, #4D, #5D, #3C, #2W, #3W and #1G of which they currently only really have Zub, Giroux, and Pinto covered off. You could make a case that DeBrincat would be on that list as well, but I'd suggest that Formenton is actually more the type of player they need to complement the group (minus the sexual assault). In that sense, Greig could be the answer, even if his size somewhat limits his NHL effectiveness. It also exposes the glaring holes at #4/5D and #1G, which is precisely why this team can't handle an injury to any of Chabot, Zub, or Sanderson for any length of time.

I’ve vaguely suggested it before, but I am wondering if Norris will eventually be a candidate for a trade to fill a legitimate hole elsewhere in the roster. Sounds crazy at first, but there are some considerations. Afterall, this is a rumour site.

Pinto is still a rookie and while his hot streak has died down, he has shown glimpses of being a legitimate top 6 option. His style of play is more suited as a 3C but his shooting ability could make him a legitimate 2C if his developmental curve continues.

If Pinto is not a 2C option, you still have Giroux who can play centre and is much more useful for faceoffs than Norris anyways.

The powerplay is currently fine the way it is. The main thing Norris brings to the table is his one timer on the powerplay. While it would be nice to have it back, the powerplay is a top 10 powerplay without it even with the likes of Debrincat and Batherson struggling to find their groove.

I wonder is a package including Norris plus secondary pieces could fetch a 3 / 4 quality d-man along with a strong forward that can play 2nd/3rd line minutes. His contract and injury history have to be a little concerning. His stock is likely low right now as a result but a decent performance when he returns to end the year could change that. A team looking for immediate top 6 help might take a chance. I’d be interested to explore possibilities if it meant to round out the roster in other ways.

So far the top six has Tkachuk, Stutzle, Norris, Batherson and Giroux for a couple of more years. They need somebody for next year and somebody else for when Giroux leaves.

The bottom six is Pinto, Kastelec and maybe Motte. Maybe Greig is coming or somebody like that Ostapchuk. The bottom six needs some serious attention.

On D there is Chabot, Sanderson and maybe Zub. This needs serious attention but it's hard to tell exactly how much attention without seeing JBD and Thomson a lot.

Trading away Norris, a top six center, is not anything I would be interested in doing.
