And the worst Dman in all of hockey anywhere in the world with another good play stripping Fox of the puck and making a nice pass to a breaking Tkachuk who finishes the play off with a nice move to beat Shesterkin.
31:11 TOI for Chabot. |

Chabot really was solid. Sanderson had one of his best games. Tkachuk....what do you say. Matthew says he is already the best pure power forward in the league...maybe.

I think you are right.
Winning is sometimes a matter of will.
Way too much focus goes into a team making the playoffs. More important to ask if this version of the team is headed in the right direction. Do they have the ultimate potential of winning a Stanley Cup?
My absolute favourite moment of the game was the shot of Joseph jumping up and down on the bench in absolute glee watching Brady exchange bombs with Trouba.
Hockey fans are wonderfully, incredibly unsophisticated. We don't spend a lot of time worrying about nuance and hidden meanings.
I don't care that much about playoff contention. I do care about the Sens staying relevant and remaining in the conversation. I can assure you they are relevant and in the conversation in the NY hockey media this morning as noted in the NY Post hockey headline and lead paragraph by Mollie Walker.
"Rangers blow another late lead in crushing overtime loss"
"Rangers captain Jacob Trouba may have taken on Brady Tkachuk one on one when the game was tied, 1-1, in the second period, but the Senators captain beat on the whole Blueshirts team by delivering the gut-punching, game-tying goal and the overtime-winning KO." |

Nice spatso ^^^^
damn I wish I didn't miss the fight. I just tuned in AFTER Brady tied it late. I can understand how big of a game this was and why Brady Tkachuk was the star of the game.
Reminds me of Team USA vs Team CANADA where Brady tied it 3-3 and scored in the shootout !

Agreed. Put Zaitsev back in Belleville, scoop up Myers for free. No brainer IMO. Does Dorion do it? Of course not. Makes too much sense. |

Sens win 4 of 5 games. Solid game by Forsberg.
Surprised by just how good Karlsson looks.
Giroux, Brady, Timmy and Chabot were flying.
Again, I get the feeling that Sanderson is a very special player. He made some incredible plays and looked very comfortable all night.

I had forgotten what it feels like to be ahead 3 goals with just a few minutes left in the game. It's so much fun watching those last few minutes.
Anyway another good game. I just saw the last half so I don't know what happened for the first 30 minutes but what I saw looked really good. |

So much silence. Kind of weird. If the Sens would have lost tonight this place would have been on fire. |

Lots of weird things happening.
Right now Florida holds down the final playoff spot. They are on pace for a 92 point season. The East is far more competitive than in previous years.
I don't think it is important for the Sens to make the playoffs. But, I do want them to be relevant and part of the hockey conversation after Christmas.

Great irony.
Players love DJ, especially Brady.
Maybe a few more misguided sentiments on the need to cut loose Dj will further inspire the kids to even stronger games.
I have never been able to figure out the fire DJ crowd.
All coaches get fired at some point. DJ will coach his last game soon enough. I do not believe he can survive the change in ownership. But, it does not make sense to me when the Sens lose one game and an entire chorus of singers show up for the lynching shouting we want DJ. But when the Sens put together a short run and play the best hockey of the season so far and these supposed fans go underground.
Hello! Was their anybody else who enjoyed the Sens games against the Rangers or the Sharks?

I’m 100% with the fire Dj crowd. Was last year as well.
His list of failures and stubborn boneheadery os just too long.
Infuriating when he vomits his rudderless line-up out there again and manages to get positive results.
He managed to keep Chabbot minutes down…….by using Zaitsev. (eye roll) I think they got very lucky against SJ |

Right on!
Yeah I wish I saw the full game. Sanderson growing is a huge factor with this team. I hope Brannstrom, Thomson, or JBD would do the same! Just one
Also easy, karlsson is married |

He also has the most goals and points than Laf - or anyone in the 2020 draft. Will that last? who knows but I am very happy with the pick and would've selected him #1 in the entire draft knowing he would play center
Now we just need Josh Norris to come back, get 30+ goals and play 2 way and we have 3 STRONG centers. |

Question: Would you guys trade Josh Norris for Bo Horvat, 1 for 1?
Assuming Horvat signs a 8 year @8m contract. Age vs injury health |

Nothing like putting down a human being. Like other bloggers on here, he has kids and a family. Enough of putting down another being. You would think you’d stop in this day and age when people get vilified for being hateful towards others |

Well, it's pretty simple - the NHL is about getting results. When you go 2-10-1 during the first quarter of a season where you have clear playoff expectations, you have to consider the possibility that the team isn't playing for their coach. Now, the little 4-1-0 run they're on in the past 5 games has been encouraging, and hopefully will set a new expectation in the dressing room. However, you also have to consider that Tkachuk has been winning games by himself, Chabot has been far better than he was earlier in the season, and they've also had some uncharacteristic luck... including actually winning two games in OT. How far that takes them remains to be seen.
Regardless, if the team wants the chants about DJ to go away, they need to keep proving it in the standings. Right now, they're still just 26th in the NHL in points, which is just not an acceptable outcome for the team at this point in the rebuild. And DJ is going to be on the knife's edge until they deliver on the promise to be in a position to make a run at a wildcard spot. |
