Another game, another chance to drop in the standings. If DeAngelo is out apparently more minutes for Risto. Sounds good to me. #TeamTank2023 |

The only solace I can take from that pick was that, looking at who was taken after him, there are very few players who have made any kind of impact in the NHL to this point. And we did hit on Farabee, who has the 5th most points in that draft class while being drafted at #14.
Gotta think positive sometimes. - MBFlyerfan
I don't hold out much hope, but O'Brien has yet to finish his collegiate hockey.

Risto might even get his first point of the season. Keep in mind, he is "not a defensive defenseman".

"Were it not for the performance of starting goaltender Carter Hart – who, somehow, has posted a decent save percentage of .915 and a goals-against average of 2.85 in 15 games – Philly would likely be tied with, or worse than, the eighth-place-in-the-Metro Columbus Blue Jackets."
I'd say .915 is better than decent given what he's got in front of him |

I'd rather see Sanheim elevated. He has not had a good start to the season and needs to ramp it up. - MJL He has ramped it up. Sanheim is the player you see.

Pretty sure the Flyers are 32nd in the league in scoring. PK and PP are both below 25th. Not sure I am too concerned about goaltending. |

On Chychrun...
The Islanders and Toronto are the two teams I have heard the most when asking around...Ottawa, Florida and Philly are also both still keeping tabs..
The 2023 1st should get it done. |

Ristolainen had 3 40+ seasons with another continuous sinking ship in Buffalo 🐃 Now he is producing zero. And is minus ➖️ 2

It's not about being worried about goaltending. It's about why the Flyers aren't at the bottom of the league.

I think it already has been established the team can only accumulate points when the goalie has a save % over .940. With that trend over an 82 game season gives them a great chance of finishing last in the league. Considering the offense will not get better even with Atkinson and Laughton close to returning. This group has been losing well before this latest winless streak. This is the right team to out suck the rest of the league over 82 games. |

Unless they do their usual and quit on the coach again. Which is very possible with this group.
It is beyond sad this franchise just doesn't get it at all in any way.

I think Ristolainen hasn't been a glaring issue because he's only playing 17 minutes (by far his career low in ATOI) a game and against easier competition. That's still not what you want from a guy who's making $5.1 million for the next 5 years, but it seems like a coach has finally figured out where to slot him. Also, Tortorella said that Zamula is playing tonight regardless of TDA's status, so there's a chance Ristolainen could be healthy scratched again. - TobyFlenderson
This is the perfect example of why I don’t have an issue with Ristolainen. When he’s coming from a team where his numbers are awful but his team was using him like he’s the next Shea Weber, who is really at fault? I think 17 minutes a night is reasonable . |

Torts on Frost- Ouch!!! - Trox88
To choose a toilet seat vs anything else that goes up and down was a bit telling to how torts feels.

Honestly, I can’t believe we just came off an entire some with half this board begging for Provorov to be traded in favor of Sanheim. Sanheim is not, nor has he ever been better than Provorov. |

I’m fine with Risto at minimum getting a look at the top pair. DeAngelo shouldn’t be there and I feel like the pairs haven’t changed in 100 plus games. |

Yup, pretty much how I read it. Torts only seems to.like Sedlak and Cates playing center. |

His assessment of Hayes is spot on, even thought like he only started really pointing out when we started to lose. However he’s wrong about Cates at center. Cates should be on the wing. |

I can see your logic, but these guys coming back played most of last year, which was a disaster. I don't believe these guys coming back will get them to a higher place in the standings then last year. I still think Fletcher gets fired before the deadline, which for me some of this roster will not make it to game 82.

As do I. I think most people would agree he's a 17 minute #5 defenseman at best. The problem is the front office doesn't view him that way which is why he got the contract he got. I actually wish they gave him some PP time because that's where he flourished in Buffalo. |

I see it as far more likely that they rearrange the deck chairs. Fletchers stays as President of hockey ops and a new GM takes over.

Ok guys,
I read this blog everyday, but rarely post. That being said, I have a legit question: Since it is a well established opinion of this board, that Felch needs to go, and sooner rather than later, who would you replace him with? And when? |
