(frank) Leon Stickle! That play was offside by at least 2 feet and it’s inexcusable that a professional linesman missed that call. He’s just lucky the game was in Uniondale, if it’s in Philly, he would have needed a police escort to even have a chance of getting out of the city alive. - BiggE

With the news of Christine McVie's passing, I consider Rumours the best album of all time. I'd love to see where it ranks on BiggE's list of best albums of all time. |

One call was in a pivotal game of the cup final the other was in game 1 of round one. Also, wasn't Dupuis' goal a waved off icing for no reason? So I think the calls kind of evened out there. Plus the Pens were still up 3-1 after Briere's goal. - TobyFlenderson
Irrelevant - mistakes happen
Kind of with you on the video review though. I like that they added the wrinkle of giving the challenging team a minor penalty if they're wrong.
It's a waste of time.

I love the 80s review and Tim Kerr piece, Bill. Fantastic work on your part - thanks!
For everyone that complains about Leon Stickle I say Danny Briere.
It's a game played by humans and refereed by humans. Mistakes happen. That's life. I wish they'd eliminate all video review.
Tim Kerr was a beast. I loved watching him play. - Scoob
In the Briere game, the refs missed an icing call that led to a pens goal, so that evened itself out

Totally with this on offsides, it’s beyond stupid to review and takes forever. The calling back goals after a team being hemmed in for a minute is a bad look. Actual puck crossing line or high stick I don’t have an issue with. |

Great record, but it’s really hard to compare albums from different eras and genres. Any of the following would be in the running for my fave album of all time:
Beatles: Abbey Road
Rush: Moving Pictures
Fleetwood Mac: Rumours
Pink Floyd: Animals
Pink Floyd: Dark Side of the Moon
Rolling Stones: Exile on Main Street
AC/DC: Back in Black
Boston: Boston
Led Zeppelin: I
Led Zeppelin: IV
The Who: Who’s Next
And I’m probably forgetting a few, lol

That's true but it was not a close call. Every fan watching on TV knew it was offside. It wasn't by inches. It was by feet. Inexcusable. He should've been fired.

Can't disagree with that. I'm a big Alice in Chains fan and Dirt is probably my favorite album but I don't know if it'd crack a top 50 albums list unless it was generalized by grunge or metal.
Love your choices though, IV is my favorite Zeppelin album. I'd add The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust by David Bowie and maybe Pet Sounds by the Beach Boys. Let it Bleed is a great Stones album too, Gimme Shelter is such a sick opening track to any album.

Like I said, it was just some, not all.
Pet Sounds for sure. From this century, well, Clockwork Angels by Rush is fantastic as is Beth Hart’s War in My Mind. Both would be in the running. |

Problem with that one is the "visual proof that it crossed the line" - could be hidden in equipment but common sense indicates it's across the line.
I'm against all video review.

Egregious? yes
Honest mistake? yes
Fire worthy offense? nah, but it was surely an opportunity for training/learning

You can make a case for Kerr and Propp especially considering how good Propp was defensively |

A few years ago, I was at the Nassau Coliseum for the Flyers game and the Islanders were celebrating their Cup years and giving out free pucks. They showed the video of that off sides and all of the Flyers fans in attendance went crazy. Even the Fishstick fans at the Mausaleum knew they got away with a bad call that game.... |

Atkinson -- very soon, per the player.
TK and JVR -- both hopefully by the end of next week. Just a matter of comfort and strength.
Allison -- still not practicing yet so he's not imminent.
DeAngelo -- Day to day, they say. - bmeltzer
And with Couturier back, they are suddenly a bubble team. 🥳 |

Absolutely fireable. It was that bad and it cost a team a game in the Cup finals.
