Not to mention he's got a very reasonable cap hit for what he provides imo. - rayc16 Ummmmm, guys. Where did I say I want him traded. Do you understand what being disappointed means? He is still probably the best defender on this team. I am comparing him to expectations that I had for him. I did not advocate for him to be traded although at this point there are probably very few untouchables on this team. |

O'Brien has the goods. He's going to be a player. I watch a lot of hockey and live in Boston. Short time later. I don't think he's going to be signed.
Don't worry about that though. Boston is going to trade for Hayes because he is a hometown guy. - MJL
Oh look everyone, the coward has something to say, but of course cannot respond to me directly because that is what cowards do. Hayes IS creating a market for himself as a point per game winger, and its quite possible he will be traded at the deadline. If not, its very possible he will be traded in the off season and Boston would be a prime destination for him. If these statements are just over your head, I'm very sorry for you. Perhaps you should spend more time learning Grasshopper!! |

i know you like picking on jd250 all the time but this is getting very tired and makes me think he's on your mind - a lot. pretty pathetic.
Also, York should not have been on this team day 1. he had a terrible camp. but you'll continue to talk like you have any idea what you're saying

O'Brien has 6 points last 6 games I think, he is coming on LOL - wcorvette
Yes, he is not playing bad by any means, but as a senior it will all come down to whether he can play the full season and stay on the ice. If he does and is a point per game player at BU, there is surely a chance he will get signed. |

Agreed. - Minnyhock
Hayes after this season has 3 years at $7M. If Hayes continues to be close to or at a point per game player with the flexibility to play wing or center, I think he will have a big market for his services, especially if the Flyers cover some salary. Getting a point per game winger at say $6M x 3 is a good deal for any team, don't you think? In return if the Flyers can get a prospect or a 2nd or 3rd round pick, I think that works. |

Yes, this season. But this is the last season for Bergeron and Krejci, and the Bruins have nothing in their system and have traded a lot of their picks; they are all in for this year. Thus next season the Bruins will have a huge hole down the middle and will want an experienced forward to help fill that hole. Hayes fits that purpose very well and he is a local kid which the Bruins absolutely salivate over. You have to live here to understand this aspect of the Bruins, but its absolutely true. |

There are a lot of fans who are setting themselves up for disappointment. Believing that a player who is on a hot streak that will inevitably end that is overpaid. Is a possibility to the be traded at the deadline with 3 more years of term after this season. Sure, Arizona would take him if the Flyers include their first round pick with him.

You know Bergeron and Krejci will just re-up for another year right? Coyle's got a lot of term.
But the most important thing to keep in mind is that Kevin Hayes does not play Boston Bruins hockey. |

How many Boston area guys are on the team currently? How many have they drafted under Sweeney? |

For a team lacking in scoring, I have to believe Foerster gets a look in the second half of the year. Curious to see how he does. |

The idea that where a player grew up will factor into the Bruins future player decisions is flat out absurd. |

Ivan Provorov is a player that if he was traded to a better team. Fans would be wondering why he wasn't as good as a Flyer as he is with the new team. He was, he just lacked the support around him and had to play as the #1 since he was 19 on mostly bad teams. - MJL
Kind of reminds me of Rielly. There has been discussion of him "not being a #1" and to be traded. Get a good cast and that all changes. |

One of the reasons the Bruins are having a banner season is that Coyle is no longer their 2C. He’s now slotted perfectly as a 3C. I doubt Boston or any other contender sees Hayes higher than a 3C. Hayes has never had more than 49 points in a season. He’s wildly inconsistent. Scoring is up this year and Hayes and others are going to have an outlier season. Hayes is a $2 Mil a year more replacement for Coyle should he suffer a long term injury. There are better options for a contender at 3C.

I think he will depending on what Fletcher does at the deadline. Who knows with this guy, he may double down again and try to make the playoffs this year. I am convinced the only thing that matters to him is keeping his job, even at the expense of the future of the franchise. My hope is the Flyers have a fire sale and move on from as many veterans not named Hart as possible. No one on this team should be untouchable IMO. Then with hopefully some roster spots open, Foerster and others can come up and finish the season, and lose a lot more games in the process. At least that is what I hope will happen. |

Jay is not playing badly this year by any means, 11 points in 14 games. It's just that is not playing the way he was before his injuries. Given all the injury problems the Flyers have and the fact that Fletcher has given contracts away to just about anyone, I don't see the Flyers offering a contract to a player with Jay's injury history, and current point production as a senior. - jd250
See I differ a bit on this player….true he has underperformed and had shaky a growth trajectory , but I still think you use one of your 50 contracts and get him in here. He hasn’t shown any real sign he can reach his pre draft projectory levels but that’s why you have 50 contracts. Maybe he can blossom? Guys do develop at different time frames. Maybe he only becomes an AHL regular, but I don’t see a real deep talent pool when it comes to prospects, that they shouldn’t be taking a chance. |

Coyle slotted on that 3rd line has helped him and the team immensely, no doubt. But the real kicker is having Krejci back with Taylor Hall. Hall is becoming a beast again and being on a 2nd line is really suiting him well, in that he is not the center of attention. |

Who do we have coming into to replace Hayes? - landros 2
Does it matter? :-) Gauthier should be here next year, and what I hope is a top 3 or 4 pick in this year's draft. Plus you have Foerster coming up, and Tippet might still be here. Then you have Couts and Cam coming back, and maybe TK is still here (who I really like BTW), so there will be options in the top 6 for Torts next season. |

That is a good example….I remember the argument before they signed him to his long term deal, that he wasn’t a legit #1….then you actually see the guys they parade out instead of him and you realize how good he is. Provy is our best D man. Full stop. Has he struggled along with the rest of the team the last 2 1/2 years ? Of course, who wouldn’t? But unless you are committing to an actual rebuild he’s a guy you keep. |

Coots and Cam? I guess we’ll see. Gauthier might be stretch. As will o top 3 pick. I actually really like Tippet’s game and honestly think TK has been the Flyers best player this year… I guess I really don’t have an idea of what the hell Fletchers actual plan is? How could I ? I don’t think he knows. |
