Before the bubble was when we were hot, though, right?! We were the hottest team in the NHL before things got shut down. Those were fun times to be a flyers fan.
Hot or not of they could have maintained that then who knows what could have been
Now we will never know but WOW did we look awful when we came back from lockdown. Everybody was probably our of shape and depressed to a certain extent. Athletes and peasants, both!
It's just disappointing to watch that streak and cohesiveness get stolen from us

JVR back checking... that was a good year, huh? Lol

- Bob Habib

I think they were 2nd place in the metro right as the season was suspended.

It was an entire season that was not normal. One hot streak doesn't make a team a true cup contender. Unless it happens in the playoffs. That's my point. I don't look at one hot streak in the regular season and say wow, what could've been. Nobody really knows but I didn't see them as a true contender. Fun to watch for a bit.
- MJL

I’m not sure if they were a legit cup contender, but they were really starting to gel and played as a 5 man unit. I would have liked to see how it all played out. All it takes is getting hot at the right time

This is exactly how I feel. I remember the blues comig from last place and then became Stanley cup Champs
We got hot at a good time

Hart is in goal tonight. Tony DeAngelo is a (semi) healthy scratch. Cam York is in the starting lineup.

Yes! Finally we can compare everything York and Goal Caufield do on the NHL level.

Why do the Flyers need Caufield? They have Brink.

Torts has been critical of his play for the past couple of weeks.

I do understand that... but in light of the injury, and subsequent reduced role... and now 'semi-healthy' scratch, I'm wondering if he is just not healed/healthy enough and a game or so off may be deemed warranted. Keeping in mind that when on the ice, he has had his moments... and with the PP playing the best it has in a long time, I'd think Seeler or Braun would be a better sit to bring in York... seems like an injury concern to me. In any case; I was just wonder if Bill could shed some light on it.

TDA hasn't been that awful that he should be benched. Braun would be my choice to sit so there probably is some truth to the injury reasoning. Of course with flyers secrecy TDA may already be dead and this is another smoke screen

They definitely shot up the standings towards the end of their season. I know people say it's because they got hot but they really were playing differently. I won't evee forget both JVR and Jake back checking and doing a damn good job at it. That group was special before the lock down happened, which is unfortunate

Lets not allow facts circumvent a good agenda.

The pandemic apparently helped the flyers and hurt ALL other teams in the nhl…

Do they not already do that in here?!
I feel like we complain about everything that we possibly can, atm.

- PLindbergh31

Luckily brink is lighting it up so there is no reason to compare the two....
And York is just dominating the game of hockey so I'm sure feltcher is happy that he passed goal caufield twice

Solid GMing

Great choices

Excellent free agent signings
Hayes..
ND..
TDA...
Risto... and then extended him after he showed how valuable he is here...

Feltcher gets my vote for clown of the year

Everybody has their panties wadded up in here

We have more reasons to be upset than we do to be happy with this team.

Cutter is a pleasant surprise but we all gear that they will ruin his development because that is what we do here in Philly!!
We ruin the careers of talented kids that we draft, right?
Poor cutter
At least brink hurt himself so that he can use the injury excuse to derail his career. He's smarter than I gave him credit for

Caufield is already scoring 50 goals in the minds of most in here. So unless York scores 60 from the blue line, we’ve drafted the wrong player.

Well yeah, how much evidence do you need? Hopefully Gautheir and whoever they draft in the next draft is good enough to overcome the roadblocks that the Flyers wlll inevitably place in their way.
