No thanks. Fitz has said multiple times he's not interested in a rental and would prefer to not do a big rental deal, especially if thats the price. If he makes a splash at the deadline, it'll be for someone with team control beyond one playoff run this year. Any kind of rental deal would likely be a smaller/less expensive depth addition.

If we're giving up Holtz and our 1st, i'd much rather go after Timo Meier.

why would the trade severson? he is a UFA after this year. chicago will retain on Kanes salary but even at 5.25 Im not sure how it would work. Holtz and the 30th pick is not alot for Kane as a rental. he would be probably the best rental traded in the last 5-6 years.

I'm old enough to remember when an E4 was pretty much a done deal. Ek got so many E4s wrong, he created E5s.

Some old school boys, or girls, in here today…luv it! I watched the Devils vs Rangers last night, NJ is a quick skilled team, but small’ish, they need a truculent winger with size not another small skilled winger.

Because Holtz and Severson combined cap hit is about half of Kane's. So if Hawks retain 1/2, the dollars are a wash.
