Torts with a lot of luv for Noah Cates. Wish he would just play at wing, but in a lost season experimenting at center where there is zero organizational depth isn't the worse idea. |

He came to his senses by putting MacEwen on the fourth line, Cates has to next. Even on this team Cates is a third line winger at best. |

Thanks Torts!! I called for a Hayes benching early in the second period and wa la......outta here for the third period. It's absolutely amazing when Hayes isn't engaged. It's like he doesn't even try to hide that he doesn't feel like playing on a given night. Good on you Torts! Glad Hart got the win! He deserves it. |

Really good game to watch, it had everything, good fights, great plays, unbelievable saves! Hughes is a terror every time he is on the ice. but for me the stars of this game were Carter Hart and TK. If there are 2 reasons to watch the Flyers this season, these two are it. I also want to give honorable mention to Torts for doing the right thing and benching Hayes in the 3rd. He not only was turning over pucks but this game was just too fast for him and it was clear the best thing he could do to help the team was sit. Look for Hayes to be traded soon, with the Flyers covering half his salary. |

I think Risto deserves some love, I mean he clearly was the Flyers best defenseman again tonight! I told you all Torts and Shaw would fix him. This is the first time I think is his career he has actually got coached. |

I really loved to see TK going after Hughes tonight, too bad the refs had to call that ticky-tac penalty on TK. Hughes should of got a matching penalty for diving.
Nick D deserves a lot of credit also. The Devils were ready to take over the game and his fight really kept the Flyers in it.
Finally, is there any doubt Carter Hart is the best goalie in the league? If not, who is clearly better? |

Ristolainen is as bad as usual. He hasn't been fixed. He's still an overpaid 3rd pair defenseman who makes no impact on the game. Now he's back to being the Flyers best defenseman. Again!

The Devils weren't ready to take over the game. They took it over from the opening puck drop. The fights did nothing. Carter Hart is the only reason the game wasn't a blowout for the Devils.

I love it! Notice I said Risto was the "Flyers" best defenseman. In the end is that really saying a whole lot? He's over paid and clearly not a top pairing D, but he has been decent in the last several games since being benched. |

Yes, the Devils were clearly the better team from the opening bell, however when the Flyers failed miserably on their 5-3 it seemed clear to me the Devils were ready to break that game wide open. The combination of the Flyers failing miserably to even get a quality shot on goal and the Devils getting pumped up from killing off the penalties typically results in the Devils getting the next goal or two, or three. Nick D's fight, which BTW was the best hockey fight I have seen in an while, really kept the Flyers in that game. |

Devils intermission report had the assistant GM on and went through their prospects. They also have some good players coming. Meanwhile we are terrible, no prospects, no nothing. Thanks Fletch - ClaudeFather

Not saying Risto has been good but he’s been better than previous season. Looks like he’s simplified his game a little and isn’t as reckless with the puck. |

The play he made at the end of the game to break up that scoring chance was a really good play. |

Does he have a point yet? Asking for a friend - corduroy This is really mind boggling. The guy had three 40 point seasons in Buffalo and yet he seems to have totally lost the offensive side of his game between Buffalo and Philly. For a team this offensively challenged it sure would help if he could contribute some. |

Hart was fantastic last night. If they built a team around him they probably have something. Instead he will waste playing behind a steaming turd year after year. |

I notice what you said. Ristolainen made a few good plays last night but overall, he was not good. Nobody really was with the exception of Hart. He was the entire team last night.

The fight was completely irrelevant in the game. It did not change any momentum. The Devils had momentum and throttled the Flyers at 5 on 5 the entire game. The Flyers never made a push. Hart won the game.

I don't see any improvement. Same old Ristolainen. He has regressed even more since becoming a Flyer.

it seems whenever a player has a bad game or is benched. The pet phrase is that he can't keep up. It really had nothing to do with not being able to keep up. It had to do with playing like crap. The issue is so did the rest of the team. So Tortorella tries to single out a vet player to send a message. It's archaic bush league stuff and it's not going to work. This team plays as hard as it can. It's just not very good. Effort is not the issue. Talent is.
