Let him revel. He was also right about Phil Myers all along. Years and years of telling anyone who would listen. Let it hang off his chest like a badge of honor. - SuperSchennBros
Anyone can brag but we can do so without the extra insults.

What's going on Flyers Buzzards? Just got back in from dinner with the wife. Tied 1=1. How's the game progressing? I did just see what looked like a power play that knows what it's doing.

Be nice to see Tippet get rewarded tonight. Some nights he really looks like a guy who could really be something good. |

Sanheim with the failed keep and there it goes.. back of net. 2 great PP and nothing to show for it but a goal for the Rags. |

Yea, looks like a potential solid player. 6th round, would be nice to get a home grown guy like that as a staple bottom 6. - ClaudeFather
Their current 1C is a homegrown 5th rounder |

that Jay O'Brien pick looking shaky in comparison to Miller. Hexy drafted a bunch of centers. Too bad it looks like none will be a difference maker. |

Does anyone ever interview the brass at Comcast for their take? Would be an interesting listen for their take on this once proud franchise.
This is so bad, I’m going to a gingerbread house decorating party with my girlfriend tonight!!
Sad times friends!👎🏻 - Hokeeguy9
Godspeed, my friend! I'm sure that your gingerbread house adventure will be more worthwhile than watching this sad sack of a franchise try to play professional hockey.
I'm about to build a house as well with my daughter and I can't wait!
Go flyers (all the way to the bottom)!!

Like who, Hakstol, who played Vandevelde for 78 games - ClaudeFather
If you remember there was lack of prospects in the system when Hakstol took over. Both Hakstol and Gordon were good development coaches. I made a mistake though. It's 5 coaches. Forgot Yeo.

Perfect storm really.
An ownership group that doesn't have a clue, advised by men who are more concerned with protecting their legacy along with an asinine identity from 50 years ago.
Tortorella fit their image of what a team should be in 2022, and their displeasure of today's "weak" athlete.
I won't bet against that one vit
A continued refusal to truly commit to a rebuild, built on nothing but arrogance fully on display. It will either be an ownership decision to rid ourselves of the cancers, or more than likely waiting for father time. I'll bet on the latter. - FlyerFan3260
I won't bet against that at all. The csncer of this franchise is at a stage 4, at this point.
It's eating away at everything here. It's sad to watch a franchise die. My only gone is for the rebirth after the Phoenix turns to ash.
The scary part is thet CF may be taking care of the rebirth, which is terrifying.
Ite not only him, though, it's the entre upper management also above him.
Clean house. Get rid of all of them

Yahoo Yeo! Was the best of them! Misunderstood, and with a horrible roster to work with. |

It’s just pure Franking nonsense. All coaches do so for the now. They give young players chances but it’s a short leash. You might see some extended time in March when a team is out of playoff race for good. Torts has given Morgan frost and Tippett significant time this year to sort through it and find their game as well. Along with Cates, you could even say he’s developing him haha - ClaudeFather
Actually it's injuries that forced Tortorella's hand. Before that, he had Frost playing with scrubs and was overplaying players like McEwen. He's the same coach who had York sent down when he should've been in the NHL the entire time.

It wasn't too long ago someone made a post similar to this about you and I told them to keep it on the hockey. You saw the post, commented on it so there no leash for you to do it to someone else. - Aaron_85
The source is incorrect. Anyone who was around knows that I was completely against the Yandle signing because it meant that York would not make the team. I debated that with numerous posters yet he claims that I wanted Yandle over York.

They are trying to win every game I agree. However the development can happen and still try to win every game. I would venture that it depends on who has personnel decisions. Some coaches don't get that power. I remember it being a thing when Babcock came to Toronto that he had all of that power alone. It would suggest some coaches dont.
I do think Torts has that power here. I also find it odd Torts took this job but I guess noone else was calling and he wanted back in the league.
I dont think he's a good development coach. - Aaron_85
No coach coaches in a game to not win but it's about a balance. It's about the situation a franchise is in. This franchise should have tunnel vision on building for the future. That balance includes putting young players in the right spots for their individual growth. It's not a blanket approach across the board which refutes those who point out individual cases of players who weren't ready for it.

Dave Hakstol played Vandevelde for 160 of the 250 games he played for the the Flyers. Before that he played 28 games over 3 seasons for the Edmonton oilers, all prior to McDavid being drafted. After the Flyers couldn’t justify him playing to the fans anymore and he was forced to seek employment as a professional hockey player for an organization not as stupid as the Flyers, he had to play one season in Liiga, then one season in the EBEL. After that he successfully convinced everyone in organized hockey worldwide how awful he is and has freed us from ever having to watch him play ice hockey ever again. As a Flyers fan I would like to apologize to hockey fans around the world for not being vocal enough in my disgust for the state of the team at the time as well as it’s direction, to force them to jettison Chris Vandevelde from the team. - Shrike
When Hakstol took over, young players ready to play in the NHL in the organization were few and far between. He had to play vet role players until the prospect base was rebuilt.

My new thought is maybe Torts wants to be fired after seeing management.
That would be funny |
