McKenzie only having 4 drops is blowing my mind. I guess it’s the timing and impact of his drops that magnify them. I’m still in disbelief.

Plenty of season left to make a better assessment, but so far, I wouldn't want to spend much in terms of assets or dollars/term in a new contract.

Wrinkle is I believe he has one season left before becoming a UFA.

He does have a very low QO, which helps.

That's cool, guess I am off a bit in what I think he could bring to the team.

Sophomore slump

Sophomore slump is possible, and interesting for a 25 year old.

He definitely brings more than points.

Not disputing that.

Curious about his contract situation and what he'd be looking for, with last season's production on his resume.

All of it.

Davis is ideally your number 3.

Davis is going to command 15 mil a year IMO when his deal is up. I don’t pay him that at all.

That would be a ?, but this year isn't helping in that aspect.

I'd say it's a chance to buy low, but his current cap hit is nothing.

Think he could open lanes for Krebs and finish off some of those plays stone hands can't.

I'd bet you would find a lot more that should have been caught, but don't count as official drops.

That’s my point.

There are balls that good/great WR’s make plays on that ours just simply don’t

I just read an interesting Trade Proposal.

Van Trades OEL to Buffalo (retaining celery, did not say how much but it would have to ne 3-4 Mill)

Buff Trades, Mittle-Shat, Goalofsson, and maybe some picks or porspect

OEL signed for the next 5 years, he is only 31 and could be good on this team on a second pair.

We get a solid but aging top 4 D, and we rid ourselves of 2 boat anchors.

I kind of like it

Why would Vancouver do the deal above?

Especially if they would be retaining nearly 50% of his cap hit, as Arizona already retained 12%, which leaves roughly $7.3M, and half would be around $3.5M per.

It was not my roomer.. But maybe because Van sucks and needs to find a home for OEL and that home has to have cap space which most GOOD teams dont have.
Just a guess tho

Next season, Vancouver would actually be spending more on their cap by making that deal, if they retain $3M per.

The 3 seasons after that, they'd save $4M or so per season, compared to have OEL's full cap on the team, but they'd still be spending $3M per for nothing, and that's if they didn't extend Olofsson or qualify Mittelstadt.

I hate that we don't play again until Friday.

Also, if we're doing 05-06/06-07 comparison, Tampa Bay has become our Ottawa.

While I don’t like the boat anchors. I think we try to add without changing our forward group.

We have the top offense in the league. Keep the band together.

Try and get a cheapy deal.
