If Savoie cracks our top 6 in the next three seasons - barring a career altering injury to one of the six - i will be shocked. Skinner seems to be getting better with age and everyone else is a baby still. - lacaprup
I could see savoie on the cozen line with quinn and jj on the third line with krebs and someone else |

If the Chychrun rumors are true, then the organization knows this season is still a go. The guy's littany of surgeries scares the heck out of me, but it is a win now move. No prospect not in a Sabre jersey right now is a sacred cow to me. Getting all of our stars a playoff round of experience is more important to me. Also, if we were to make the playoffs, I expect the season ticket base would jump back to 13,000. And, that would be nice for next season. Imagine if we had a home ice advantage? We really don't right now. |

He could, but when I weigh that against what Savoie and an unprotected first rounder could bring back...well, player X looks real nice. |

I believe Weissbach will get some games. He always impresses me when I see him. |

If that's what it would take, and Timo would sign an extension. |

Agreed to part two. I have not seen evidence of more fans except at games where the opposition team provided several thousand (Pittsburgh last Friday). The Bruins game November 12th was a very impressive crowd.
The 8 game loser really hurt. That Tampa game made people irate. |

Gonna cost some Money, probably have to sacrifice bringing Girgensons Okposo back. |

team is leading the nhl in goals per game and have 5 guys in the top 36 for scoring
I think if any additions come it will be third line for penalty kill, top 4 d and goalie for the short term, 2 year window |

More fans than pre March last year. I'm basing off of the good run at the end of last year. We're at that level now nightly, but not above it... yet. Win one more game on this roadtrip and I see a few more ticket sales coming. |

I also think it's only a matter of time before the non-Sabre fan Ontario resident begins coming regularly again. Dahlin and Tage are becoming must see for true NHL fans and there are a lot of them in Ontario. Border issues notwithstanding. |

less than 13 k vs the kings, last home game and colorado, cup champs
the die hard fans that can afford it will be coming back but I think the duration of this team sucking and the economy will keep the numbers down for another year or so
down meaning 15 k in stands when we are good next year |

The run at the end of last year had 2 RJ nights and a couple leaf games. I think. So that might be why |

The bills game was on during the avs game.
I forgot if that was home. But that definitely effects attendance

Panthers beat the Devils 4-2, FL outhit NJ 29-12

of course outhitting NJ didn’t make them win, but then again no one has ever said that it does.
It is always mentioned as an additional attribute to being a skilled hockey team. |

Imagine if Savoie grabs that spot, and Nadeau comes in on fire in a couple years and that 4th line is Rousek Nadeau Kulich. 4 lines of a bit of everything. - Buff36
Yup, would be fun.
As much crap helped on Granato earlier this season, he has the pulse of the team and especially knows how to bring young guys along based on their "need or pace". That speaks well for the future with such a young team. |

Imagine if they trade Savoie for someone who can be impactful now and not two years. Holding Savoie is a move for an organization that just played for a Cup and has an aging superstar to replace over the next two years. We're not in that spot. Savoie can help land an excellent player who maybe has a different style. - lacaprup
The needs on this team up front are Bottom 6, probably more like L4 . On the backend it is 2RhD, preferably a Samuelsson clone.
And of course at G.
To waste trading away Savoie for that "lesser" talent needs is not the smart move forward. In fact, the L4 needs are good UFA targets given their lower costs.
They have enough assets not to be trading away Savoie nor Kulich for their other needs. Use those assets instead. |

You want to spend $10m QO on a 3rd liner?
Go spend $7m on a fabulous starting Goalie instead.
Sabres are already the highest scoring team in the NHL...time to focus on limiting opportunities and stopping those that do occur.

No, not $10M. He would need to agree to an extension with term.
Highest scoring team this season so far, yes.
Do we all think Tage will score 100+, Dahlin, Skinner, Tuch, and Cozens 80-90 again next season, and future seasons?
Can you ever have enough offense (think of the Avalanche)?
Meier is also a good two way player. |
