The numbers and (from here) the eye test said differently. Made a lot of subtle good plays all night. |

The entire line of Frost, JvR and Tippett in my opinion have been fun to watch, especially JvR. I think JvR has had a bad wrap for too long. |

Agreed. JVR does go through periods where he struggles to put up points but he plays the game the right way. He’s on a bit of a heater right now….contract year I guess. Both him and Frost make subtle little plays and really compliment each other when they are skating like that. Tippet has nights where you wonder why he isn’t a star in this league. If he could get a few more of those chances to go the Flyers may have stumbled onto a pretty good one. |

What happens if the Phantoms get shut out for the teddy bear game? Do they just throw the bears on the ice at the end of the game? |

There is no defending Fletcher, none, zilch.
He needs to go and Bob Clarke needs to have zero say in this organization any more.
This team is run by imbeciles, either clean house or sell the (frank)ing franchise Roberts, enough is enough. Listening to the loud “let’s go Rangers” chants last night was disgusting.
To whatever fans that are left: please, for the love of all that is holy, stop buying tickets and merchandise! Plummeting revenue is the only thing that Comcast is going to notice.

I agree Bill. Frost played well last night and has been playing well for a while now. The only issue I have is on the Panarin goal. Both he and his linemates have to be better there. To allow such an easy path through the neutral zone and to the net on a controlled breakout with the Flyers sitting in a neutral zone checking alignment is inexcusable.

Frost would likely be an excellent 3C, too bad this team currently lacks a 1 or 2C. |

Tippett looked good, as did JVR. Frost was a passenger in the first and second |

That's part of it. Would see better and more preferable matchups for development if the team iced a better lineup.

no no, match ups don't matter. Frost played well Vs the Yotes and the masses said it was because it was the Yotes, then bashed him for the AVs. Frost just played a good game vs a good team and crickets.
Yes way to easy on the Panarin goal but if you watch the play, JVR seemed to be F1 coming back and then went right and didnt follow Panarin, they all just watched. I think that happens to all NHL players from time to time, how goals are scored.
I am starting to see Frost as a middle six center, being O focused in the matchups.

I'm just wondering if the numerous players who were lazy on plays last night leading to goals against will face the same fate.

Another banner day and night for this wonderful franchise. The fans are so spoiled. |

JVR's role was that he was poorly positioned to stop the pass right up the gut in the neutral zone. A team should never be able to move that quickly and easily all the way to the net on a controlled breakout against a team sitting back in a neutral zone checking posture.

JvR is streaky offensively... don't be fooled. Back in the Toronto days, he screwed me every year as a waiver wire pickup. He'd put up points in six straight games, some multi point, then zeros for the next twelve. Later, he and Voracek got my awards for slowest to the bench on line shifts, as if looking gassed and raising a stick were a sign of effort when the rest of us were wondering why they weren't back checking. Konecny used to do that, too, but I don't see it anymore.
If Fletch doesn't already have a For Sale sign out, it would be criminal. |

Ristolainen has zero points in 25 games?
Another tremendous addition from Fluck Chetcher. |

agree on NZ but JVR was first man back, he needed to take the open and most dangerous player, he went left, but Frost was slow on that play and all 3 were in a still V in the NZ, super easy to navigate through

Torts press conference-
Hayes- Yes he is our leading scorer but I can't continue to overlook things on how we want to play as a team. I think the first part is effort without the puck, then to casual on the giveaways. As we compare other players and should they sit, we need to consider that, Laughton last night was late getting back on a goal, he was also on the end of a shift but still late and seemed lazy. Is that different than Hayes? |

I think he struggled along time to put up points because he played with garbage. If not for the power play, his totals would be a lot lower. |

Always liked JVRs game, but he does need the right linemates and to be put in the right position, just who he is, like most players, his injury might be a blessing, he might streak right to the TDL and raise his trade value. |
