I go back and forth between Bedard and Fantilli. Mainly because Fantilli is 6'2" and will prob play in the NHL at 205-210lbs and has comparable skill to Bedard. Bedard is listed at 5'10" and 185lbs, but he doesn't look nearly 185.
I watched him like a hawk during the World Juniors. Yes, he was the youngest kid out there, yes, he put up 8 points in 7 games...but opposing teams were able to be physical on him and limit his effectiveness. Now I know he was playing against older kids and still showed he can produce, his skill is undeniable, but Fantilli is no slouch and already has NHL size while putting up big point totals playing against man sized players in college. 3rd (26 points in 16 games) in NCAA scoring as a freshman (our boy Cutter is 18th!)
Bedard has 64 points in 28 games so there is that lol
Both players are studs and I will be overjoyed to have a chance to draft either. - MBFlyerfan
Fantilli is great, but Bedard is on a level of his own. The size difference is gonna be a non-issue too... his processing speed, deception, precision and execution are ridiculous. And he's got the best shot in the draft to boot. |

It will be something else when they miss out on any of the top guys, but thankfully they showed more effort this season. Were harder to play against.
Country club will be joined together in song, how they did it their way. Sinatra would be proud. |

I have long ago resigned myself to the fact we wont get Bedard lol
I think I have subconsciously started to look at Fantilli or Michkov as more likely possibilities just to make myself feel better about this hellscape of a franchise we all root for. |

You never know if/when the NHL will place their thumb on the scale to save a flagging franchise. Maybe it's the Flyers turn to get some Gary love.

Only if the attendance drops and expected HRR plummet like the Hindenberg.. waits for obvious reference acknowledgement

Ellis, sedlak, now Atkinson. There’s players walking away from this team yet the fans are still there. Is this a lagging indicator? |

I’m surprised people actually care in here about players. They could have mcdavid and gaudreau and would be no more than a bubble team. |

Sedlak leaving the league rather than play another few months in Philly is not a good look for Fletcher' Flyers. - Feanor
looking at his reasons....no i don't blame him one bit. Coming back to play for a contender....going to a bottom feeder. Respect he put his happiness and family first. and guessing he will get similar pay elsewhere.

Fantilli, Carlsson, Smith, Michkov, Yager. and Benson would all be nice consulation prizes. This draft class has a strong top 10. - Trox88
Mhm. I would not be upset with Fantilli or Michkov. Carlsson could be a winner, too.
I’d rather have Michkov over Carlsson, but I’m not sure how politics are gonna play in this mess. |

9 points ahead of the intentional tankers Blackhawks. At the rock bottom. 🪨 |

He won’t
Bedard is essentially the next Patrick Kane. Fantilli projects to be an NHL all star caliber type player but Bedard is generational.
His size does keep him from being Sid/McDavid level but he’s the number 1 pick.
Some GMs will pause thinking about Fantilli’s measurables but in the end he’s second fiddle every day and twice on Sundays |

That kid from the USNTDP, Will Smith has been climbing up the mock charts and putting up points at a high rate. He’s an intriguing prospect. |

PR department will be all over that name. And Chuck’s probably already at half chub given the kids American. |

No doubt…I kinda wish he had more than such a generic name and after the other Will Smith’s meltdown at the Oscars, that potential connection to the city seems a little less cool. |

Obviously I want that next generation talent like anyone else but I’m also not expecting to strike gold. Draft picks are lottery tickets in my mind. What I want is a really good center we can build around if we can’t get that next great player. I think I might be really happy with Adam Fantilli.
This is gonna sound very contradictory on my part but I did once say to myself that I was happy to have James van Riemsdyk when we were robbed of Patrick Kane. I don’t wanna feel that way again but we really need something to build around at center.
Really think about that. Patrick Kane should have been a Flyer. Not only did it not happen, he kept us from winning a cup. |
