I was surprised to see the Gauthier and Barzal both have 5 goals. Barzal probably has more assists but still interesting.

If Gaut could really figure out how to use his body in front of the net, as well as working on some puck fundamentals, he could be Kreider-esque on the right side. Potentially giving Panarin and Zib a net front presense as well as someone who can hit the corner boards and retrieve the puck.

Ive always said hes got the power and skating but he just cant seem to get out of his own way. Not a particularly great passer and doesnt finish enough. But the big thing is he takes bad penalties.

Thats because theres many games hes not visible. But then he will have a game or 2 where hes flying, gets an extra shift or 2 and then takes a penalty at the worst possible time. Then he rides the pine, gets chewed out, and plays passive… which is where he kinda fades away again. Might also cause a bad turnover, which is why I mentioned puck fundamentals.

Good win. Holiday not ruined. Didn't think Igor was bad. Maybe he should have stopped the 3rd goal. First two he really didn't have a chance on. 3rd goal allowed was a Burkie special. Brodzinski let Barzal blow by him, Panarin actually did a nice job on him. Brodzinski didn't pick up Romanov.

That Kakko turnover, woof. Made up for it though. Nice pass by Miller. Might be time to split up the kid line. Gallant actually made the correct in game changes, shocking.

Power play was good, just these god damn post. Julien Gauthier should never be benched for the unmentionable ever again.

Harpur again was solid for 2 periods and bad for the 3rd period. He's odd to figure out.
