They were top-5 in xGA/60 last season and top-10 the season before. They've been good defensively for awhile now.

They just need to shake that PO monkey off their backs.

You're right but people can't stop with the same storyline.

However, Tippett and Frost both looked good in the 3rd period. The only period I was able to watch.

To be fair to the flyers, even though they got two goals to make it close, they didn't look like they cared at all.

I don't know if that elbow hit him or not but it certainly looked embellished. I'm glad he's in playoff form

It was comical watching Ristolainen run around like he was drunk and confused on the Bunting goal. Thank goodness Torts and Shaw fixed him.

Frost had the assist taken away from him on the Farabee goal but that is an example of the subtle plays that he makes. He bunted the Leafs players stick which pushed the puck to Konecny. Technically not an assist but instrumental in the goal.

Morgan Frost only puts up points against bad team like Arizona, Columbus and Toronto.

But Noah Cates produces nothing equally well against good and bad teams.

I'm pro tank, but I do hope Frost becomes a viable center for the long term for this team. Hope he keeps it going.

Tortorella has to get his head out of his ass and end the Cates experiment at center. Put the player in the best spot for him.

Ristolainen was basically the only guy on the ice watching Matthews on that goal and trying to protect the net. Not saying he did a good job of it but that’s what I saw.

I can’t stand them and I know a lot of people who love them up here. Their fans are like yankee fans without the success. They’re up there with the rangers penguins and habs on my detest level.

I think they’ve got a good team but can’t see this goaltending holding up nor do I love their d Corp. for a while I’ve felt their a reg season team and can’t adjust to the playoff grind where you can’t outscore every game. As good as he is I’d trade nylander for a stud d if you could.

It's funny how you never hear him utter a single bad word against his man-crush Catesy, but every time he's asked about Frost he always has something snide/critical to say. "Supposed to be an offensive player", "we need more from him", and today's presser he said Frost specifically was "brutal" for most of the game.

Meanwhile, Catesy was invisible, but not a peep about him.

Frost played considerable time against Marner and Taveras and had some shifts against Matthews. Not a matchup I would expect to win. Yet Frost was one of only two forwards above 50% in corsi and was even in scoring chances. Was on the ice for two goals for and zero against. Scored a goal and made a play to help on another goal. He was third among all Flyers forwards in ice time. 50% on draws. Cates was below water on everything. The BS mind games he plays are ridiculous.

You could tell Frost was jittery in front of his friends/family at the start, had some careless puck touches... then the entire team got reamed in the 2nd pretty good.

But he was really quite good in the 3rd, and was instrumental in the two goals they scored. Still, Torts went out of his way to single him out, on a question where the beat was only asking if Frost had begun to earn his trust over the last little while...

I think part of it is mind games. I think another part of it is that Torts simply doesn't really care for Frost as a player.

You shut up. Flyers fans know one thing- female dog and complain. Yeah, the team is bad right now but it’s the same when they’re good - find a whipping boy and female dog, female dog, female dog.

He much prefers a center like Cates who is scoring at a lower rate than Deslauriers is at ES. I'm not knocking Cates as I think Tortorella has him playing out of position.

I'm also getting sick and tired of watching this team play passively in the defensive zone and on the PK. Just letting the opposition pass the puck around with ease and easily get the puck to the net. No puck pressure. It's just pathetic and it's how they're being coached to play.

I missed the past few games but like what I'm hearing about Frosty. I'm not a Frost hater but admit I've had my doubts. I just hope Torts sticks to giving him top minutes and like you say, stop with the mind games. I also agree with what you and others said about Cates. I think he'll be fine long term, but I'd like to see more from him.
