The image I have from Subban is the Habs leading by 1 goal with 2 minutes to play when he takes the puck, attacks, get caught and the other team equalize…
Subban was a wonderful talent but a very risky player…. Serge Savard once said that a great player has to modulate the way he plays in function of the clock….
Subban never did this…. And this is why he did not play a single game at the Olympics. Yes he was flashy but so unreliable…
He do not deserve any recognition at the Bell Center…. He is not cut in same material than Doug Harvey, Larry Robinson, Serge Savard or Guy Lapointe…. Not even Markov… |

they aren't retiring his number, they're just giving him some applause and a little tribute video, geez.

They love their pre-game ceremonies at the Bell Centre, makes the fefans happy and keeps the marketing department busy. I usually prefer to do some channel surfing during all that crap (ceremony, anthems, etc).
Subban is getting recognized for what he did for the community and certainly not for his impact on the team's performance on ice.
Like Karine said, I also think Markov was a MUCH more useful player. |

while all of that is true, and I agree 100%, Subban was also the most spectacular player we've seen in 30 years.
one of the few who was able to raise his game when it matters, like in the playoffs. not that many in Mtl were able to do that in the past 20-30 years.
and like I said, he did a lot off the ice.
so far from perfect like you mentionned, but loved for what he is. well deserving of a little thank you PK from the team and the fans. imo |

read or heard that they asked Markov but he doesn't have the time with his coaching duties in the KHL. |

To finish last night's discussion, for us it was and still is, Tommy Boy, Billy Madison, Ace Ventura, Miracle, Pitch Perfect (she's a hockey player, but still a girl), Big Daddy and a couple others that just keep getting replayed. |

no matter how you dislike him, Subban was a fan favorite for many, and he did have a very positive impact with his off ice contributions... I really don't get this attitude lol. |
