Guess I'm in the minority but I get more excited about Phillips each time I see him. For 3 straight shifts vs CLB kid read the play, came off his blueline, pinched and kept a puck alive. CLB was breaking out, long pass up to Johnson near the Hawk blueline, kid read the play stepped up and bodied him sticking the puck loose.......

The 21 yr old was much more fluid and decisive in his 2nd game and seemed to just play and not over think. Big kid, balanced skater, showing physicality, showing processing speed, head up on retrievals and quickly outletting, showing poise, again as a 21 yr old.

Probably best at RKF where he gets big prime minutes as a 21 yr old but very much like he's getting NHL minutes to feel the speed of the top level.

Canada vs Germany at 5:00 today. Germany played to a 1-0 loss to SWE in one helluva a game. If they bring that type of game vs Canada it will be a good watch. Another chance to see the 3 Hawk D prospects. Was pleased with Allen in the loss to CZE. As good with the puck as I've seen him. He seems comfortable with it on his stick. ..... As a mobile shutdown Dman with size all he needs to do is keep it simple, process quickly understanding his options and outlet the thing and he seems to understand that.

Like what I saw in Phillips. Looked better than 4/6 of the other guys on the backend. Didn't make that many mistakes compared to what we see nightly from Murphy, McCabe, Johnson, and Co.

Fluid skater and has some good size (only 21 so can fill out more too). Doesn't get swallowed whole along the boards. Thought he looked better than Mitchell.

Maybe L.A you can answer this what is going on with Turcotte? Is he still in the plans with the Kings or on his way out as part of a trade package?
- Scott1977

Unfortunately Turcotte missed all of training camp as he was still feeling the effects of his concussion that ended his season this year. He has also been out due to illness since.

There is legitimate concern about Turcotte’s ability to break through and whether there is really a roster spot for him. He can deliver when put in the right situation, but what is that situation? Personally, I can't see him cracking the roster, they have all current forwards signed for next year, and they still have to make room for Byfield, Kupari, Fergamo and Anderson.

If you are unable to watch World Junior, the best way to actually check on things is directly through the IIFH site:

bhawks2241: Don't think you are way off base by what you saw in the first Issak Jacobs games.

There is plenty of detail to his game, and although you don't wanna overwhelm him, this new trial baptism has shown plenty of signs there is something there.
As soon as there might be signs of struggles that might affect confidence, they will send him back to amply what he learned and continue advancing his game.

That is why they have dripped & grabbed with Mitchell.

take what you learn.

It will be interesting when the backline decisions for next year get made. If they are fortunate enough to get Connor Bedard, he says on day one, and they may not want to exit a large part of the backlines. Whereas a fantilli or there pick probably doesn't step in right away, so then maybe you see many kids because you are in a tank three situation.

We don't have all the pertinent information about these prospects as it relates to their performance level while in Rockford. When.Theo contributes, we gain deeper understanding based upon his review of the Rockford games he has seen

I am not going to question whether Galvas can play NHL as a 160# dman. Might be right. You don't know what heart and willingness to do what takes to succeed, could come from each prospect.

We don't know if let's just use Galvas as an example: has he been playing his off side? How much blame or lack of blame attached to his defense pair and the entire group on the ice. Has he been playing.with a minor injury?

Based on his pro experience.and what we saw in his NHL games, Galvas might well be ok as a dman who makes right decisions and is not a turnover machine..

BY season end KD will have shown probably what he thinks about Galvas sticking around, if he is offered a contract and whether he received a cup of coffee up in the NHL. I understand there are a few prospects he is competing against and they may get recalled because KD wants them to get a taste of NHL.pace more than Galvas who already has a feel for it.

And you.never know if we are to get a Holtz or whomever, the other GM.may want a prospect back
Could be Phillips, Galvas, etc al gets moved. I don't think.Vlasic gets moved and probably not Mitchell. But the others ....whp knows.

He’s not bad huh! And another underage kid in the OHL looks to be similar to Bedard and McDavid, the kids name is Micheal Misa and he’s only 15 so he won’t be draft eligible until 2025.

Hey Hoser, not much. Unfortunately the only decent hockey this season is the Generals and this Junior Tournament. Man I hope the Hawks are able to snag Bedard, even if I disagree about how they’re going about it, he is incredible.

If you were the gm of Chicago would take chance on him? I could see Turcotte being dealt at the tdl or offseason imo.

Unless he is part of a deal for a player the Kings really want, I don’t see the Kings move him. Turcotte still has a year left on his ELC.

How about at the end of the first period when turns around skating backwards to receive the cherry picking pass and twists to forward and full acceleration in about a second and scored ?

Or in the second with those looks toward the net and passes?

I am not gonna be able to stop my hoping the six months until June 28th.

(JEEZ, I won't have to wait THAT long....the lottery is in May 2023 sometime, right?)

I cannot find the date yet.
