Tonight’s Canadiens-Panthers game is truly unique, one where a tank is facilitated with a win. Right now, according to tankathon, the Canadiens and Panthers combined odds to win the lottery are 11.5%, or tied for third with Columbus. The Canadiens play Florida three more times.

So basically, Habs need to beat Florida in those 3 games and lose to everyone else.

We will pick 2 good players, Drouin will be send to Mars with no fuel to come back, Dindonov to Russia or Ukraine if we are lucky…. Edmonson will be traded, Anderson as well…

I think this is very temporary…

Savard will be back and you can’t keep vets out of the lineup forever as this will pollute the air…

The space I am talking about is for next year….

If Hughes gets the price he wants, one of the 2 vet will go…. Ideally Wideman will but thé value on him is as big as his contribution to the team…

starting a rebuild? its not pretty for sure but they spent the last few seasons tinkering around the edges without a full commitment. Add in a new regime and wanting to put their stamp on it.

Oh I understand the plan and rebuilding is fine.

But that's imitating Pittsburgh going for Lemieux or Quebec going for Lindros.

It implies a few more years of pain even if they do win the lottery, which also implies a few more high draft picks.

And as we've seen with McDavid and the Oilers or Toronto and Matthews, it doesn't guarantee success either.

I'm not a fan of the full teardown and always cheer for someone to get Buffalo'd..
