Oh I understand the plan and rebuilding is fine.
But that's imitating Pittsburgh going for Lemieux or Quebec going for Lindros.
It implies a few more years of pain even if they do win the lottery, which also implies a few more high draft picks.
And as we've seen with McDavid or Toronto, it doesn't guarantee success either.
I'm not a fan of the full teardown.

The Habs didn't tank last year.
They sucked. They went into the year hoping to make the playoffs again.
Then decided to trade away vets going for a rebuild around their young players when things went very, very wrong.
Which was the right thing to do.
