We should all be juiced about the Flyers winning 2 in a row and not giving up against the Leafs and Canes. What a horrible time it is being a Flyers fan. Damn Fletcher and Scott and Comcast for putting us in this place. We the fans are stuck rooting for a team destined to be mired in mediocrity. Far from a contender, far from a playoff team, but seemingly too far from the bottom to gain a potential game changer. A win feels just as empty as a loss.

Do you think it’s time to give John Tortorella and his coaching staff a little credit? Risto last year was absolutely awful on the penalty kill. He is miles ahead of where he was last year and he was a monster last game to Owen Tippett is really starting to show what he can do, TK is 1000% better than he has been in past seasons Scott lot in his scoring power-play goal. Shorthanded goals playing still very well. 515 Noah Cades for the big shorthanded goal yesterday much more evidence do we need before we start giving John Tortorella some credit for what he’s doing with this roster?

You're going to have to explain further about Ristolainen. I think he's still the same.

Here are the PK number for Ritolainen in 21/22

Show me where the miles ahead comes in.

Owen Tippet was part of that awful return for Giroux that you relentlessly complained about in how Fletcher was fleeced.

By the way, I have to correct a mistaken comment I made the other day when I said Fletcher has made only one good move as GM. I have to add the Giroux trade to the Niskanen deal. Making that two.

I would have a bigger expectation of a player picked in the top 10 than the player that I think Tippet is going to be. Go look at the 3rd overall pick and see how many players didn't add up to being a top player, pal. There are misses everywhere in the draft. It's why they call it a crapshoot.
- MJL

I can think of a miss that was 2nd overall..

I don’t think Ristolainen is perfect by any stretch but arguing Ristolainen of Buffalo and Ristolainen of Philadelphia are two different players. Ristolainen was being used like Shea Weber in Buffalo which is insane and the fault of any coach who chose to do that. Here, he’s in a lesser role, mistakes and all. I know they dropped him to the third pair but I think Risto is the best option for the top pair. York is better on the left and I think it shows at times. Braun has offered very little, which has led to his scratches. DeAngelo is poor defensively. I wish he’d stop moved so much. Love it or hate it, by default I think Risto has been the best option for the top pair so far next to Provorov.

Plus you can’t argue effort. Ristolainen managed three blocked shots and an assist in one shift on the penalty kill. That deserves credit. I do wish he’d stop leaving his feet to block a shot though…

I wish he hadnt hurt Hart on a bad play that also resulted in the game-winning goal. At least he earned is millions in that shift.

Part of the reason I was open minded about the trade was because of what you mentioned about him in Buffalo. Albeit i didn't watch a lot of Sabre games I thought he was put in a spot he couldn't handle but that didn't necessarily mean he was bad. I was hoping being given a smaller role he might be more beneficial. Hasn't happened. He has moments but overall it hasn't come together for him.

And you saying all of this I don’t think is unfair. I wanted Ristolainen before we traded for him. What I didn’t like was the trade itself. There is no way I would have gave up a first for him in the deal.

He made two good moves with the Wild too. Drafting Kaprizov and signing Spurgeon to 3 years for 8 Mil in 2013.

Wait, wait! You completely left the Provy-Sanheim pairing out of your evaluation.

It’s not that I didn’t like the TK signing because I think he signed the deal after his 60 point season (might have to fact check me), I just didn’t like how he held out all that summer to suck the following two seasons.
- SuperSchennBros

He signed right before he hit 60 pts.

I don’t have a real issue with the extension. The money seems to be the norm for a player his age and it’s not a max years contract.

The condescension in peoples posts towards others can stop. I dont mind a back and forth but things are starting to slide away from a decent debate.

If you think you're right and that someone can't or won't see your point of view then simply don't reply. I know that's super difficult to do. What with your hands glued to keyboards and having to be keyboard warriors and all.

It was a fantastic game because my opponent in my fantasy championships played Minshew since Hurts was out.
