I still don't hate the idea of trying it out at some point. But I'm not sure Raty is going to be so good at center (right off the bat, anyway) that it would justify moving Barzal to the wing. I'd do it if they acquired someone like Horvat/O'Reilly/etc... though

I'd prefer the trade route for those you mentioned but raty is a top 6 player more than and bottom 6 and if they want him at center that's where I think he slots in

Honestly, Casey is taking many FO's and also if you watch Him and Barzal in the D zone and Casey is taking the draw then Barzal ultimately takes on the wingers responsibilities. They are playing very well together and typically a veteran counterman has an easy time playing the wing than visa versa. Nice to have 2 centers out there being able to take the FO on their strong side.

Barzal could play defense and he would drive and create offense. It doesn't matter what position he plays he will get it done offensively.

I guess it's not just shooting it's driving to the net and where he is shooting from. Just seems to be in front or from the slot area versus from a bad angle.

Well yea perimeter shots are easy to save whereas the slot gives you multiple options. Maybe he will see the results and do it more

Would be very bad if they still could not move him. I would just keep him for the year instead of a buyout and bench him or play him 3rd or 4th line.

Raty on the 1st line with Barzal at C, except on faceoffs, he's terrible, while Raty is very good.
