God YOU guys are the dramatic ones. Tom is negative as always but who else? I said far more positive things during and after the game than negative. This narrative is getting old (older than fenrir) - picklerick
I am negative. That's fine. I own it. I guarantee the money puck model favors Carolina at the end of night. Is it a fun win? Yeah. Is it a lucky win? Yes. Rangers got some timely saves. Canes didn't. Pretty simple. |

Rangers outshot them 26-14 after the first period. This was their best effort of the season imo. They brought their lunch pails |

My point is you bother me far less than the people constantly complaining about the negativity and romanticizing the good old days |

It just sucks how so many people have left. And it’s because of the negativity. Especially this year. Have any of you truly enjoyed a win? Or do you just lament every mistake Blais makes? |

The most underrated positive from the game? Faceoffs. They murdered us in the playoffs |

Yep.
One can only hope that this loss breaks the Canes like we did to the Devils. |

I agree they got better after the first and a big win against a very good team. I think the game against Tampa was their best game of the year, unfortunately it was a out SO loss |

That’s the cool thing to say these days but I’m pretty sure the Detroit game was our best game. They’re not elite like TB but they’re no slouches and we put up 8 |

Great game. Had the makings of a frustrating loss but they played hard after the 3rd Carolina goal. That late game call was stupid and I wish we won without it. Horrible officiating again this game. It’s a problem - picklerick
+1
Good game summary, bring on the Canadiens! |

Some of you guys are goofy. The Rangers just beat a top flight team on a 11-game winning streak and you are cherry picking any negative you can.
YES, there was mistakes and repeated ones for some players. Some players stepped up, where as some were a bit flat.....which explains almost every (frank)ing game played in the NHL. Difference is the whole, the team overcame and won because they seem to be....good? - NYRCeph
You're making WAY too much sense! |

Just caught up on the comments. See it was a fun night here again. You can be lucky and good at same time. Yes, an element of luck, but they also made some of their breaks, including the Miller goal. A pair of goals against were unlucky, one went off Chytil's stick, so they do even out. Solid win against a team on an 11-game win streak, who lead the division and likely would have loved some measure of revenge for the playoff ouster last season. |

they havent had a smidge of luck all season and bad luck was a big part of at least 3 losses, so I'm not apologizing for it
ok, I will...
Tom, I'm sorry that the Rangers caught a couple of breaks last night and won the game over the hottest team in the NHL and ruined your night.
Maybe next time. |

Agreed. You pretty much described every hockey game. Good puck luck, good plays, mistakes, and in the end the team that minimizes the bad the most will often win.
This was good game for the Rangers. Better to start a little disjointed, figure out the team you are against and end strong by making smart adjustments, than to end poorly trying to clutch onto a lead and then lose the game. A sign of a maturing team. |
