of course it is. they are learning to hate losing. every minute they spend on the ice is good.
Avs went through the same thing a few years ago and won the cup last summer. patience. we all knew it would take 2-3 years minimum. - fidopro
sure, but people forget about Buffalo, Arizona, Oilers, etc.
Devils are just starting to turn the corner.
I don't think 5 rookies on d is a good idea either, but I guess things happened this way.
I'm glad they got Dach, but I wish Romanov was still here. |

so 2 weeks ago the coach was saying

We knew this team was gonna have trouble winning, before the season started.
But they had a fairly favourable schedule to start the season and (most of) the kids performed over expectations. Also, it seemed like the team played better as a unit knowing there were lots of kids in the line-up and lots of vets who were injured.
The newness of the season wore off, the vets came back, and with the tougher schedule, the season has finally become what we expected.
Be happy we saw some really good hockey early in the season. Not sure why people are frustrated / surprised by the current performance (and how they could not sustain their early season success)... this was always a throw away season, and more about getting the kids some ice time.
So far, so good. |

ASUS make great products ... I've never owned an ASUS laptop though so I can't help you there. - Garfield512
ASUS and Acer make the worst products on the market since they bought Toshiba's old poopty hardware as they died in a fire of their own making. |

As long as our young players keep playing well and learn, results never mattered.
Caufield isn't slowing down but we've seen Suzuki and Dach cool off recently, they need to find a way to push through that.
On defense, I know he's been injured forever and missed camp but Edmundson looks dreadful out there.
He's supposed to be a calming influence and help out the kids like Savard is doing but I feel they need to cover for him instead most of the time.
At least the hunt for Bedard is back on, which is great news if you watched any WJC Canada games.

When the season started we knew defense and goaltending was going to be poopty. The kids overperformed to start the season which is great but now it's back to normal.
They still need a complete legit second line, a legit offensive D to quarterback the PP, balance the D parings so everyone plays on their good side and a legit number 1 goalie.

I've watched a few WJC games involving team USA.
Lane Hutson is very impressive.
He's not putting up tons of points in the tournament but his skating, vision and decision making are elite for sure.
Not a bad shot either although I've mostly seen him do wristers than slappers from the point.

Too much pressure is put on the same 3 guys to provide offense. Suzuki more than anybody else.
The vets are not helping the kids like we were expecting(or as we wish they would). Guys like Gallagher and Edmundson are not as helpfull as they used to be.
They are giving way too many goals right now to compete. The dcorps is too green.
If they can get assets for Monahan (needs to come back and stay healthy),Edmundson (I heard a 1st round pick+ lol) Anderson, Hoffman (lol), that would be great.
It would be even better if they could find some quality vets to sign in the offseason to surround those kids properly.

Maybe or they draft Axel Sandin-Pellika if he's the best player available when it's their turn

Only real sports team that matters in the whole province, the others are just white noise no one cares about unless they make it to the finals of something, and then they care just enough to maybe watch part of a game before being bored.
