First!!!
A re-signed Kane to play alongside Bedard/Fantilli is an interesting concept even if only until the 23-24 TDL.
I wonder what he'd command, maybe 1 year at 7.5? - Popsghostly
KD should be able to trade 88 for multiple first round picks (I’m thinking 4) then re-sign Kane in the summer for the league minimum. If he can’t then KD should be fired on the spot. |

the Rangers have two first rounders this year they'd be willing to throw in the package, but wouldn't be willing to include next years
look at position Florida is in now, they included this year's number 1 in the ill-fated Chiarot deal and now it's likely a lottery pick
and, if Kane will only waive his NMC for the Rangers, it will limit the package |

IMO if Davidson doesn't get at least a first rounder for Kane, he won't trade him and let him walk at the end of the season. Davidson is not going to trade Kane for someone else's crap that won't further the rebuild just because he want's to go to only one team. Different circumstances, KD didn't like what Strome and Kubalik were going to bring back at the TDL, so he didn't trade them and let them go make their own deals at the end of the year.
Now if you want to give us crap for Toews, I am sure KD can work out a deal for you.

I mean, I wasn't offering crap, I said Rangers have two first rounders this coming draft and I think would be willing to give both

When Kane and Toews give the go ahead. They both have NMC, so if they decide they don't want to move, they don't move, unless Bettmen mandates Kane to the Rangers (this is an inside BOD joke)

Wondering if Stalock is really 'sick' or did a team looking at him ask the team to not play him in the next couple games? |

Depends on what buyers jump the gun and offer up something good. Like Tampa Bay offering up a big package for Hagel last year a month before the deadline.
Excluding Kane and Toews, who personally I don't think will waive, my list of best trade candidates are Domi, one of Murphy/McCabe, Stalock. If someone offers Davidson a 1st for Domi tomorrow, he's gone. If teams are offering 3rd rounders, he'll wait until closer to the deadline when teams may get more desperate for a depth center having a decent year. Davidson has set a value on the above and will try to extract that from other teams.
Also, some buyers may have to wait until the deadline to accrue more cap space. |

He took that big shot that ripped off his facemask last game, might be that. |

This goalie looks like he may want to find a situation where he has a little less competition for a job. It seems the Sabres may have too many in front of him at the moment.

Maybe his signing rights are included as part of the return should the Hawks move someone to Buffalo. |

Well, there is raspy for both, but the more call from different organizations the better idea of the market or the dynamic duo's interest around to begin their choosing.
Also the more cap room each team keeps as the season rolls on, make these deals more do-able with the teams that will not need a third party broker.
And it always seems like once an acquisition happens that is a clear Playoff bolster, the other teams start getting on the phone to finish the talks on the others players on the market. |

A lot being made out of what seems like a really minor injury to Kane. He even admitted he could be playing if he really needed to, so this all seems like a lot of news about nothing.
If the Hawks resign him for anything more than 6-7 Million, they are paying big time for past performance like they did for Seabrook, because this season has been dreadful for him on the ice. Age catches everyone and that is probably "some" of it. Teammates are part of it, but the effort has been lacking and it's not even subtle.

There was some talk in the last thread about Bedard's size. Here is a write up on Michkov:
https://www.secondcityhoc...-draft-matvei-michkov-khl
Really impressive kid, but 5'10" and 148 lbs (and won't be over until 2025 at earliest)? Can't believe he's even under consideration.
I thought this line was funny though: Michkov, 5-foot-10, a smaller forward but one with good skating ability, offensive weaponry and the ability to get to the net. A fair comp may be Russian Alex DeBrincat, if we weren’t all worried about Cat’s skating after he was drafted. - Chunk
First I don´t think Eliteprospect has updated those measures. And he could be the best player from 23 draft that is not named Bedard (and even that could change) when all is said and done. That is why.

To get to the cap floor you will need to pay somebody $6-7 Mil, might as well be him.

Thought about that scenario. If Portillo's rights are obtained and he is signed, will Commesso or Basse think about NOT signing with the Hawks?
