I think this is a bold statement. Numbers probably support it but that’s because he’s playing on Anaheim

He wasn’t that bad defensively in Dallas. Not great or even good obviously, but he’s still a premier offensive guy and that’s what the Sabres identity is. It’s Granatos system.

Connor Murphy is on an equally horrendous team and he still has quality (& better than Joker) defensive numbers playing against top 4 comp.

There's no guarantee but it's hard to believe he's not an upgrade at RD4.
