Good blog Hank,

This is part of the reason why secondary assists have faced serious scrutiny. Home arena's tend to be, on average, kind of generous with this. It has gotten much better though compared to a few years ago.

Its also why arena adjustments became a thing for a bit. The Rangers were juicing numbers hard enough that it actually became noticeable on public models.

Morrissey is legit though. He really should be part of the Norris conversation.

For the love of God, trade for a defenseman

A real shutdown D would make these goalies look like world beaters imo.

Find Jay McKee and spend a pair of 2nds

Anderson was top 5 in sv% prior to his last start and UPL started rough but had a good stretch afterwords.

Is the goaltending great ? No

The team defence is even worse than the “goaltending”

- Swedish_Jesus

We are bottom-10 in .gaa per game

That’s a goalie stat

We have 3 players who are worse than -4

Bryson -16 and just terrible

Mitts -11

Olo -8

We have a goaltending problem and a middle-6 problem.

Seriously our worst defenseman other than Bryson is Pilut at a -4.

Bryson is a bleeding wound that won’t heal. So are Mitts and Olo.

Run and stop the run though right?

Gosh, I have never encountered anyone who is just so off base on everything they say yet so full of confidence that it makes me feel violated.

Assuming the Bengals beat the Ravens, Bills beat the Dolphins. The final four teams in the AFC will contain 4 of these 5 QB’s

Allen
Mahomes
Burrow
Herbert
Lawrence

Literally the 5 best AFC QB’s

I don’t see Derrick Henry, Nick Chubb or Josh Jacobs though

Bryson is terrible. Undersized and not skilled enough for the NHL with the limitations. Goalies need to make a couple key saves to keep you in the game. UPL was doing that consistently. Anderson couldn’t save a beachball 2 nights ago. Conrie needed to be better.

We have a goalie problem, 2 defensemen problem, a new secondary scoring problem,

We need to decide what this team, organization, needs more. An asset from a deep draft, or a wild card spot.

If we don’t act on the ladder soon, we are getting a top 10 pick this year

I don't disagree with the overall sentiment that the blue line could use some additions, but the forwards shouldn't be absolved of responsibility here either. We know an offense can break down when one guy doesn't know what to do with/without the puck, defense is no different.

It may not be as big a priority, but they should look into adding a defensive forward who can pitch in offensively, or at least not look out of place. Asplund seemed like an obvious choice but he doesn't really have the finishing or speed to fit what Granato is after. Someone like Engvall might be a better fit.

How about Murphy for the PHI 2nd and Josh Bloom ? A couple of you guys have been in favor of that move.

I'd add their system to it. They expose their biggest weakness. Makes for fun games, but no lead is ever safe.

If you want to add a defensive F to the mix, someone has to come out. Donnie is locked in with most of these guys, to a fault.

Agree on forwards responsibility to play some defense, but their goal production this year more than makes up for it. We could stand a defensive upgrade on the forth, maybe 3rd too

Well yeah for sure by extension. The scheme tends to run through the wingers, which means ultimately they've gotta have their head on a swivel and at the very least be capable of launching quick counters.

I think it's part of why the kid line has seen a sharp decline. Quinn was actually doing an excellent job of this until recently. Cozens as well.

That third line could use that as well.

Part of the blue line defensive issues will also be improved by Power improving. Right now his defensive metrics are about what you'd expect for a rookie. He'll never be a shut down guy, but we figure that they'll get better each year. That will help a lot.

I need them to have a third pair that can at least do what the fourth line does for the offense. That line doesn't do much but Granato can at least toss them out there to give the top six a rest and keep the puck in the right end of the ice.

Lyubushkin straight up just doesn't play third periods anymore lol.
