Tell that to the long list of elite QBs that have won for the last 15-20 years.

Very rarely can you Nick foles it.

Joe Flacco and Nick Foles have as many rings as Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees.

I guess very rarely you can Aaron Rodgers it or Drew Brees it too ?

Eli Manning has more rings than most HOF Quarterbacks.

That’s also without digging into the many “HOF” QB’s that won Super Bowls having average passing seasons but yet went on to have HOF careers.

Russell Wilson wins a SB with Marshan Lynch and the legion of boom, then turns into a top 5 QB of the NFL for the rest of his career in Seattle and doesn’t come close to sniffing another SB

If it wasn’t for the No Fly Zone, Peyton Manning doesn’t go 3-0 in 2015 to win his second ring and finishes his career with a sub 500 playoff record.

Big Ben was not elite his first SB win.

Brady wasn’t elite for the first three rings but then went on to have a hall of fame career (ironically enough Brady’s top 5 passing seasons he didn’t win a ring)

There have been many average passing years that have won Super Bowls.

Come on, you loved Matt Stafford. Especially in Detroit.

More than anyone. You were calling him elite, prior to the trade.

Now you give him elite weapons and not a run game 😀

- Boss34

I was Matthew Stafford’s biggest fan no doubt but even I knew at best he was a borderline top 10 QB in the league.

Funny how years ago I said if Stafford could get out of Detroit and get a high end supporting cast he can win a ring though despite everyone on here saying you absolutely need a “top 5 QB” to win SB’s

Joe Flacco got his ring by averaging 275 yards per game in the postseason with 11 TD’s and 0 INT’s and scoring 34 points in the SB to win.

Please for the love of god stop with this take. It’s wrong

He had at the time the best playoff run of all time surpassing Joe Montana

Flacco after that year fell off due to injuries to a torn acl and bad back.

But that was an elite playoff run.

Funny how you deserve credit for saying stafford is elite and Detroit is holding back.

Now you've twisted your words into ,matt Stafford isnt elite and even I knew that"

Nobody said you need a top 5.
Just, building around average qb play and running is ridiculous.

Stafford ranks 2021

4th in QBR
6th in EPA
3rd in yards
2nd in TD’s

Yes he was a top 5 QB in 2021 and wouldn’t you know it? He won a SB

So let me get this straight

Jimmy Garrapollo *not* winning a SB or making the SB last year proves YOUR point. But Peyton Manning actually making the SB in 2015 and losing still proves your point?

You just continuously move goalposts, ignore facts, and have double standards when it comes to this discussion

Where is Dan Marino’s SB ring ?

How come Drew Brees finished his career with a 500 playoff record ? Top 3 passer of all time no ? Where are his multiple rings and abundance of playoff success ?

How come Elway didn’t win a ring until his late thirties on the backs of Terell Davis and top 5 defences in back to back seasons?

How come Peyton Manning, whom a lot will say is the GOAT, won one ring throughout the entirety of his peak yet matched that ring count in his final season when he was essentially a pumpkin. Osweiler’s bank account hit the $$$$ and he flamed out not even 2 seasons later.

How did Tom Brady win 3 rings in thr early 2000’s despite scoring sub 20 points on more than a few occasions during those playoff runs ?

Here’s the answer to all your questions -

Because only one team wins the superbowl every year and Tom Brady, you know the greatest QB ever has won 7 of them this generation and has been to 10

Like literally alll these QB’s have been to a million AFC/NFC championship games. They all play each other

IT WAS LITERALLY BRADY VS MANNING EVERY SINGLE YEAR IN FHE PLAOFFS

But when Ryan Tannehill and Derrick Henry win one you can come back and tell me how right you were

Yup. Outliers exist in every sport.

Who did they beat in that SB? Was it like Matt Schaub? Oh it was Cam Newton NFL MVP? Weird

Like legitimately 80-90% of the QB’s that have played in the SB have been fantastic HOF level QB’s or MVP’s or multiple time pro bowlers and you sit here and pretend Derek Carr or Kirk Cousins are the usual

Brady and Corey Dillon were essentially Tannehill and Henry.

Tannehill was a heck of a lot better than Big Ben was when he won his first ring.

And the Titans sacked Burrow 9! times and held the Bengals to 65 yards on the ground meanwhile the Titans had 140 yards rushing and STILL lost. What does that tell you?

The Bengals winning a playoff game scoring one offensive touchdown (which was a Joe Mixon TD run) and their kicker going 4/4 hitting the game winner with no time remaining ?

The only QB to throw a touchdown pass in that game was Ryan Tannehill.

Tannehill also threw 3 picks and 220 yards. That was the real difference in the game. Bad QB play by the Titans including an INT with 28 seconds left in the game. Oof

Bengals defence then held Mahomes to 24 points on the road the week after and Mixon ran for 116.

Burrow was/is a top 5 QB in the league but he certainly didn’t blow the doors of the hinges those three playoff games last year.

Still made the SB though despite Mahomes and Allen having two of the best postseasons of all time last year

Carr outplayed Burrow in the wildcard game last year despite losing.

In fact, the only QB Burrow outplayed that entire postseason run was Tannehill and even then he needed his kicker to hit 4 field goals and his defence to give up 16 points.

Yet the Bengals made the Super Bowl despite not getting elite QB play from their Elite QB

I'd argue that barely completing 50% of your 54 passes for 310 yards and 1 and 1 plus another fumble lost with a 69 rating is not outplaying a guy who completed 70% for 244 and 2 and 0 with a 110 rating.

Was Burrow "elite" in the postseason last year? Meh, not really, but he wasn't exactly bad either; he had 68.3% completion 1105 yards 5 TD 2 INT and a 97.3 rating. What would Derek Carr look like behind that line? Very likely a lot worse than that. I mean JFC Burrow got sacked 19 times in 4 games.
