He’s probably been hurt tho which is why his numbers are down. I’m with you I don’t want an injured Kane by any means. Healthy yes all day everyday

Before the injury, said player was still bad this current season.

if the Rangers trade for Kane, I can almost guarantee it won't include Chytil

but it will probably include their 1st rounder and another 1st rounder if they win two playoff rounds, one of those kind of things, the Rangers always do a trade like that

- jimbro83

The idea would be to resign Kane, but if they didn’t then yea I wouldn’t include Chytil. It was all predicated on keeping Kane

I better not hear we miss Buch “A RW” ever ever again lol

Well said player would be playing with Panarin and not Tyler Raddysh

Not defending a Kane to NYR scenario but I thought that some believe Kane has been fighting an injury for a while.

You can not want to trade for him and give up pieces that’s fair, but to say he sucks now is dumb. Based on graphs. You do you tho

Personally dont care about picks. Need to win in the next couple years. Zib, Kreids lesser extent Panarin aren't getting any younger

Which is another reason why I want him. They took a huge step last year which has very much gone unnoticed by our fan base

That might be true. Like last year he was still bad. But he was carried a lot by Strome and Debrincat at 5 on 5. Just what the numbers say. This year, Chicago stinks. But Domi and Raddysh, his line mates have not been has bad as him. So what am I supposed to do that information? (Don't expect you to actually know, just rhetorical.)

I wouldnt want to trade the picks if I was worried about making the playoffs, but it looks like Dallas is a shoo-in and the Rangers are getting close, but I definitely dont want to trade next year's and potentially be in the spot Florida is now

I still don't think a healthy Kane makes this team any worse but I'm not super interested in acquiring him right now. I'd still be really interested in how it plays out if they did though. Could be fun.

Give me someone like Horvat or Meier.

The numbers say he had 92 pts last year ain’t that a kick in the ass when you’re wrong

But we have so many young players. I mean the defense is pretty much set. I think at some point they have to decide, hoard picks or go for it. Imo that should be soon.

Im not worried about picks in the mid 20's, I worried about the bottom dropping out next year and trading a potential lottery pick like Florida has done

I wouldn't mind either one. Although Horvat or Chytil might have to play out of position. Meier I like the idea of a lot. I've been saying Drury should go full mercenary for him. Expend the capital, treat him purely as a rental. Trade him at the draft if it works or it doesn't. His RFA status is huge bargaining chip.

I think that makes Meier the obvious choice but also makes him more expensive than a normal mercenary since he will have value after the season ends.

What's a realistic package for him? Does two firsts get it done?
