I've said it all season, but it was apparent Sunday in the way the Dolphins played: NO ONE is scared of the Bills receivers.
Guys off the street are playing meaningful snaps. Diggs is great, but Josh Allen does not have the weapons other QBs playing this weekend have.

That article about Hino and Portilo is interesting to me primarily from this perspective,
-Do we really want a guy who is running away from competition
-where does he suspect he will get a better chance to start in a couple years?
Move that blind, dumb self-center pos asap for anything as useful to a hockey organization as a flame-thrower.

I know how much you love Johnson

Could run into the same situation, if he thinks he's better then a #4 in the Sabres organization. With joker he's at least/best Johnson's a bottom pair.

You should buy a portilo jersey .....

Don't think a single poster said play Asplund over Olofsson.

I've seen Asplund over Girgs. Or Asplund with Olofsson.

That ahl tweener has a better PPG than girgs playing less minutes. More pts in their last 7 games playing less minutes and a better +/-.

Girgs last 2 games has missed wide open nets for goals. Doesn't use his 6'2 200 pound frame to do anything except put cracks in the ice when he falls. A bag of hammers would be more useful. At least that bag of hammers might trip the other team instead of tripping themselves.

But we have this analytics department that is sooooo good. When the hell is that going to pay off?

This analytics Department has only been together for a little over a year.

He's right, but Knox and Davis looked far better than they have all season yesterday, and that's with Knox dropping a 2nd touchdown. Get consistent performances like that from them this week, and they should be fine.

Three outside moves this past offseason:
Comrie (third goalie, not playing)
Lyubushkin (hurts us most nights in his 13 minutes)
Hinostroza (waived)

2 moves in season:
Clague (healthy scratched as often as he plays)
Jost (solid waiver claim)

They're looking like a 20% success rate so far.

How heavily do you think analytics influences KA?

Clague as a depth signing gets a high grade from me.

This is still completely misleading. The plan - like it or not - was to let the kids play. Just about every name you listed was simply a lottery ticket. It would be different if Adams had been signing scrubs to multi-year contracts like Yzerman has been doing.

Of course, an argument could be made that Adams should have done more to shore up the D once the injuries hit.

Comrie with solid Numbers last year, analytics gives those numbers to Adams. Adams trade falls through and he goes with a cheap option that he hopes carries his numbers over.
Lyubushkin- was pretty solid last year for Toronto until the playoffs. He was supposed to be a physical shut down Dman. It didn't work it happens
Hinostroza- Was kept for depth in case the youngins didn't develop and grow. I would say that was just as much Adams and Granato as it was Analytics.
Clague has been better than most of those bottom 3 and Jost was a surprisingly good add.

No idea, as the Sabres analytics department exists behind a veil of secrecy like all analytics departments.

How? He's been scratched half the time. We essentially traded him for Fitz. Utterly meaningless to me. I cant give it a grade at all. He's the 7th D man on a team we constantly say has terrible D. By definition he's someone you pull off a scrap heap.

why did they bring back Vinny and Riley Sheahan if that is/was the plan?

Same question to you. Also, who decided to put Krebs with 28 and 21 to find his game? My guess is that came from the coaching staff without a hint of analytics, but that is a total guess. Did any of these analytic based websites who offer opinions on the Sabres suggest something like this? My guess is no.

No. Don Granato does a pre and post game interview. He also does a weekly on WGR. Adams on occasion does media. I have never seen an analytics person from any organization answer a question or claim credit for a decision. They're simply a magic pill answer when someone else in the organization needs to say something to the media.
