I think it's fair to say that most current nhl players see and know the game a lot more than their coaches so when they are asking to see the ipad they are probably genuinely trying to see the play and learn from it.

Poor Provo.
He plays in the city of brotherly love.

I am happy with Torts decision. But I'm old. It brings me back to last year's playoffs when one of the Rangers knocked it out of another Rangers hands? I forget the players. Reminded me of that ghostbusters scene where Egon or Ray gets the device knocked out of their hand by Bill Murray's character. Like I said. I'm old and only half remembering both of these things.

The pads on bench are a see and learn tool. Purpose to make explaining good/bad aspects of play by coaches more efficient.

Does it have an impact both ways? Well it’s more isolating than a team talk on the bench. Plus they don’t have to try to catch glimpses of plays on the big screen. If anything that’s distracting.

I could see taking them off the bench for a while if the coach notices that they are not learning from their mistakes, or not listening to the coach. Technology is only beneficial if the person using it is using it as a tool and it's not a distraction. PHilly is 8-2 , so it's not like the ban of Ipads has hurt them
