I missed it. Did they really do that? - Letterkenney
Yes, I only saw a glimpse but they were black with rainbow colored numbers and name plates. Didn't see the front.

Giroux was debatable MVP of the league multiple times, can’t say that about the other two. Spare me with the team success and international play, irrelevant - ClaudeFather
Unfortunately to the voters the team success matters a lot. Also they were apart of the team that succeeded. They didn't sit in the press box while cups were being won. Toews battled, played well and did his job to a huge success. He contributed to the team success. I agree on Kessel though. He's AT BEST borderline HOF in my eyes. At best.

The HOF was not apart of the conversation at all, the conversation was about who is the better player. Minnyhockey interjected with a statement that meant nothing in regards to who’s a better player |

Agree that G is borderline HOF, and unless he gets a cup I’ll say his chances are pretty slim of getting in. HOF debates are interesting, a guy like Marleau is a weird one, really good player for a long time, should his longevity aid getting him in? There would be worse players than him not in, but is what he did worth more. |

Exactly. Kessel has 97 more goals and 13 more points in 188 more games. I don't think anyone in their right mind would say Kessel is a better player, or ever was. But to say they aren't in the same category is not exactly fair. - MBFlyerfan
I don't see Kessel as a leader. He has had some issues in his career with conditioning and such. That's why I gave Roo the nod as a better player. Kessel had the blessing of playing with Crosby and malkin so I feel his numbers were padded because of that. 4oo played with lesser talent and still put up numbers and carried his line. He had raffl as a wing for how long? Imagine if Roo played either Crosby or malkin. Imagine his numbers then. Whew
That why I decided to elevate Giroux over the career that Kessel has had. Imo, he is just on a different level than the one dimensional Kessel.
It's open for debate though. I love hockey talk when it's civil! |

Did you know that Nick Deslauriers used to be a defenseman? Just ask him, he’ll tell you. |

Marleau is a weird one? He scored 566 goals and is 23rd all time in the NHL in goals scored. He's a lock for the HOF

What is amazing is that a guy who had a rep for poor conditioning never missed a game and produced throughout. Plus he can (could) no doubt skate like the wind.
RISTO with a shortie. OMG I am going to play the lottery tomorrow.

Marleau is in the same camp as Kessel with Kessel slightly ahead due to cups because they matter for HOF.
I honestly don't know how to rank iron man streaks. Like it feels weird to suggest it matters because "congrats you just played a long time". Except when we dial in on it, you gotta be healthy which is tough! You also got to be good enough for that long to get a contract and then the coach to play you so maybe it should have some weight? I am on the fence with it. |
