Yes, but that requires that team to be paid with an asset. Lot of talk being thrown around about there being a market for Hayes. I don't think it's ever impossible to trade any player but what is a market? Is it one team that makes a deal for him? Or is it widespread interest? - MJL
Hayes at 50% retained has value. He is a consistent 40-50 point player. Put him in an environment where he isn't the say top 5 focus of a team.
Having term may or may not be a hindrance. Some may like the cost certainty. Can make an argument for both sides of the coin.
define widespread.

There is also
e) Flyers being willing to give up a quality asset for a team to take him. Or take bad contract back in a swap. - MJL
Outside of the Ghost deal where a second round pick was shipped out in exchange for nothing, have we seen other deals like this is recent year? I’m not talking Brayden where we happily took two first round picks and a dead weight contract. I mean the guy was shipped out with an asset because the team was that desperate to move him. |

Honestly, Hayes is more likely a summer trade unless a team has a need. Canes lost a center. Replacing Pacioretty with Hayes at 50% salary at the deadline might work for them. There may be better deals out there for the Canes and I have no idea what they would be sending us but it makes sense to me. The Non-NHL GM. I don't give a frank what they do with him after this season.
Provy to a Western Conference team. I don't know if this recent incident tempers any deals for him. It should cool down in another couple of days.
JVR for a 2nd.
Braun for a used puck bag.
I think Laughton and TK are the only ones that would be of interest to playoff teams. But they both have term.
It will be interesting. We should be sellers and if Fletch says otherwise, he should be locked in his office with no phone access. |

I would be incredibly shocked if Carolina traded for Hayes.

We’re still trading Hayes huh? Good luck with that |

I could see the Canes making a strong pitch for Horvat. Stastny at 37 is their #2C with 3 goals in 45 games.

They have a number of guys that can play center, I highly doubt he is the #2 come playoffs, that’s just a plug in for now. What would a Horvat trade look like? First and a top prospect ? |

Rumor is they want 3 players. The Canes may be savvy enough to get him for what you proposed.

I like the Canes but they just don’t have “the guy” I can’t see them going all the way. Horvat would be a pretty significant add if they were able to do it without sending a roster player back |

Just popping in to say I hope you guys don’t lose your sanity or what of it is left thanks to this ownership/front office. I’ve decided to renounce my Flyers fandom until when/if the team is sold and front office is wiped out.
Godspeed. |

How has Sam Steel been? He is a guy I wanted to the flyers to go after. |

Leafs moved Marleau and Mrazek for first round picks
JT Miller technically was a move for such cap purposes. Chicago also took on Tyler Johnson from tampa right? Monahan was moved with a first round pick conditional for future considerations. |

He’s performed better than expected. But the experiment of putting him between Kaprizov and Zuccarello should end now.

All they need is to get some more scoring. Boston is an obvious juggernaut. Don't know if they have the assets.

And that’s exactly what I’m talking about, who’s the guy that’s gonna step up and score all playoff long. They haven’t had that guy in any of these playoff runs the past few years. Horvat certainly could add to the team in that department. |

They have 3 very good young offensive players in Aho, Necas and Svechnikov. Either just entering or in their prime. They have an outstanding defensive crew. Pacioretty was the perfect add until he got hurt. Twice |

Necas has really come along, that was my foolish hope for a return in a G trade. I think Svechnikov has underperformed against expectations that were set really high. Still very young |

Horvat would likely slot between Necas and Svechnikov if the Canes had their way. Rumor is VAN wants Necas. Canes could take a run at Ryan O’Reilly.

In my opinion, Carolina would not deal for Hayes. I can't see Tulsky giving the thumbs up for that. - MJL

Svechnikov is 22 I think. He's having a little bit of down year so far last time I looked.
