I think harpur is fine as a 7th d man and has done an admirable job playing every night until we trade for the guy that’s going to play in the playoffs as our bottom pairing LD - picklerick
Stated perfectly...
And he is on a minimal contract, so he gets some job security and he can be easily moved the day that we get an upgrade! |

No, I know they don't. They should. They could have avoid many mistakes if that were the case. - tomburton99
why do we have to turn this place into a funeral parlor just to appease you everytime something like this happens that in reality is EXTREMELY insignificant?
try being a little more self absorbed |

Nothing I have posted about even comes close to levels of death. Is it good grading against their competition, not really. Hockey is hockey, and analytics are becoming more and more prevalent in the league. I feel like this has been a my take since I've been back. |

It is. It's just that somebody refuse to set him up to succeed. But have no fear big bad Ben Harpur is here. - tomburton99
Bad take. Simply put Jones has not earned his spot here. Harpur is a very serviceable defenseman who is still making pennies and can be sent down. These kids need to earn their spots, and competition is good for them. Hopefully, this marks the end of Hajek. This signing shouldn't get you so aggravated.

but you completely ignore the fact that he doesn't block a kid from taking the space at all, in fact, if it was a player with better analytics, there would be a better chance he would actually block the kid the next two years.
You want your 7th defenseman to be a cheap vet, and not a kid who is sitting around not playing.
How the hell is this hard to understand |

What has Jones not done for the Rangers that Harpur has? Rangers drafted Jones right? He played College hockey until he was ready to sign a pro contract correct? He has spent 74 games in the AHL putting up .66 points per game. And has played 38 NHL games posting .21 points per game.
Harpur? 193 AHL games, .31 points per game. NHL? 174 games and .10 ppg.
What am I missing here that Jones hasn't done, that Harpur does more efficiently? |

So he was doing that?
Again, it's not personal with Harpur. I think the Rangers have better in house option until they can/want to make a trade. |

how do we go from "the Rangers are really smart developing defensemen but have no idea what they are doing with young forwards" to the Rangers are ruining Zac Jones and Matthew Robertson by playing them a lot in Hartford?
this is some change on the fly |

Which I'm ok with. If the goal is have Harpur be a full time 7 D now, fine. Waive Hajek, then explore the waiver/trade market now. |

This blog should now have a trigger warning. Every one has pages and pages of arguing, and not the good debate kind.
Though sometimes entertaining. |

That's a fair point. We really don't give a poop about other peoples feelings anyway.

Would anyone do Kravtsov for Ryan Hartman? He’s not making very much money, and at least he’s an established winger. He’s having a tough season I think, but coming off 34 goals. He also is a bit of a dooshbag
No idea if minny would even do it, just happened to see that he’s in le chateau bow bow tho |
