Never penalty killed from my recollection.
0 short handed career goals for samson
7 short handed career goals for great28
I did notice sam playing pk tonight.
He was very noticable in a good way - Boss34
Yes, he had a good game.
He’s been really good since Mo put him and Lundell on Barkov’s wings |

Good game. Great roadtrip. Minnesota are no slouches, and they came to play last night. UPL had another good game. He'll get better on the shootout, and he got a bit unlucky on Kaprizov's shootout goal. I thought Tage's shootout was really impressive. I enjoyed the speed burst he put on; I think it slighty caught Flower by surprise. Quinn I thought came in on too flat of an angle.
Getting a point in a game where Dahlin and the top line are all pointless. Good job.
The team looked exhausted. We need the three days off and a home game. Huge, huge, huge 2 points on February 1st.

Fantastic road trip, thought they played a very good road game without having Cozens and Sammy in. Clague had another strong game. There is no way Bryson should be playing over him. |

I have a feeling it depends upon who they would be pairing with. If we're talking about pairing with one of the top 2 lines it's going to be Clague. If it's with Boosh I think they want Bryson's speed and pinches. Bryson has a knack for making a good pinch to keep possession in the O zone. |

Heck of a road trip and game last night. To play like they did without two of their better defense players in Sammy and Cozens was pretty impressive. Scoring depth has become a thing on this team and not in a bad way like the past 10 years. Sabres also bringing their team GAA down at the best time.
Bryson stands out like a sore thumb at this point as the worst player on the roster and an obvious upgrade candidate. He's really been getting bounced around in the corners and on the wall the past month or so.
Meaningful games going in February! Not sure I remember how to feel about this. |

Go get Timo and see if Matthew Benning can be included. Might add a bit to the price. But take care of 2 things in one trade. |

Clague is a good skater and has quality speed in his game.
He's shown it multiple times when needing to race back to cover for Power when he's roaming.
That's what I'd be looking for in a partner for Power, not the old school stay at home defenseman type.
Let's lean into the modern game and the speed approach the Sabres are attempting to employ. |

Has Power looked bad to anyone since Joker came back from injury? Every game hasn't been great, but Power clearly has had his best stretch of play of late since Joker came back.
I *still* don't understand the Joker hate.

Don't hate Joker, just think he would be better on the 3rd pair. |

For those of you who live in the fantasy world of thinking that Timo Meier could be gotten for a bag of pucks please read this article that describes the type of trade package the Sabres would need to offer in order to complete the trade. Though I think that the writer is offering more than then Sharks are asking for you might want to take a chair if you are one of the ones who have arrogantly made any of the idiotic trade package proposals I have read here:
https://thehockeywriters....ain-trading-sharks-meier/
Hope the link works. |

timo meier
445 games played, 151 goas 312 points
sam reinhart when traded for a late 1st and prospect
454 games played 134 goals 295 points
given the extra time meier would play for the remainder of this season, an extra second is about what should be needed

Curious to hear your reasoning of why a deal for Meier would be markedly different then the one for DeBrincat.
https://www.capfriendly.com/forums/thread/609227
Keep in mind you're getting less than 2 seasons left of team control, and his QO is a million higher then DeBrincat.
Also, I don't believe teams are allowed to attach trade conditions anymore on if a player signs an extension with the team they are traded to.
Finally, Quinn, Ostlund and the Sabres 2023 1st is a hysterical joke of an overpayment. |

He's a sports writer with an opinion, not a Front Office guy.
His opinion is not gospel.
Now, for the record I have suggested a trade as follows:
- Olofsson (NHL Player)
- Rosen (Top Prospect, 2021 1st Rd; #14-OA)
- 2023-2nd Rd (open to Philly, Sabres or VGK)
- 2024-1st (conditioned on Meier signing)
For
- Meier
- SJS 2024-2nd (Conditioned on SJS receiving Sabres 2024-1st)
I also like Buf36's idea of going after Benning
- Portillo rights
- Bryson
