You could jump into the bet with asplund 😀
Of course you won't - Boss34
I get why pick a guy and attach him to me every year. It's funny for a little while.

He was stellar analytically under donny last year but has taken a big step back this year. Idk why exactly but if his defensive metrics aren't good and he doesnt score, well...
- Hank Balling
Selke Elmer asplund is here strictly for vibe reasons
It's the smelick rule.
Keep the star (hasek) happy by signing his friend and fellow countrymen.
Asplund is also the 1st guy on the bus. He warms up donnie's seat, then grabs one in the back of the bus.
The day after they ink dahlin, elmer will be packing his bags. |

This is why I question just how good defensive metrics are at truly measuring individual defense.
Also, there was a point this season where people wanted Vinny and Asplund dressed over Mitts and Olofsson. I'm glad Granato stuck with it |

Unlike tokarski, you love selke asplund.
You called him a "glue guy"
You constantly criticized the coach of the year candidate donnie , "for playing the wrong guys"
You're stuck to asplund like glue ☝️
*jost bring a lot of what asplund does
What exactly is that? |

At least there is talk of getting Defense on this team instead of More Offense. We don't need any more offense we have one of the highest scoring teams in the NHL we need to keep the puck out of the back of our net now.
ps, if we can get a younger stud D-man that is locked up at good term, I have no issues using an unproven asset like Savoie. - hehateme
Defense is not the sold responsibility of just Defensemen. Forwards playing a decent defensive game are also critical to being a solid defensive team. Meier also plays a decent defensive game. Adding him should not be viewed as an offensive acquisition only. |

Also possible a night off would have helped those two snap out of it sooner.

This is a tired old conversation that isn't interesting or amusing to me anymore. Can only imagine how others here feel.
You shouldn't need me to tell you what VO and Mitts need from a linemate to succeed.

Marty just did a segment with TSN Toronto. They asked him who is the Sabres MVP so far this season: Dahls or Tage. Marty gives the slight nod to Dahlin. I agree. |

Yeah possibly. I just don't think defensive metrics for individual skaters are really accurate. Asplund is a 12/13 fwd. Not someone who "fixes" his linemates like previously suggested |

I agree as well, the amount of offense that goes though him is amazing. I also feel like hes been even keeled the whole season where tage gets hot and cold |

Well we don't really have to give up anything, Adams can just let this play out from a Growth and Development standpoint, other than D it has worked out well this year. It's just with the resources he has Cap wise and Capital wise it's the perfect opportunity with Timo available. |

He also shows more leadership qualities than Tage. And that's no knock on Tage, just a compliment to Dahlin. |

I was in Washington at the game when Buffalo played the Caps.
I was lucky enough to have special passes and access before and during the game.
Before the game and before the team is in their uniforms, I was able to watch Dahlin lead some of his teammates in pregame drills, including sprints, weight training, and flexibility drills.
Two things that stuck out the most were how big Dahlin is, and how engaged Krebs was in those hour plus before game drills and workouts.
Krebs is not shy about putting in the necessary work. |

I think everyone sees you trolling me with girgensons. Then when I respond with your favorite guy asplund, it's time to take your ball and go home.
I shouldn't need to tell you, you can give it out , but can't take it. |

Krebs has the right attitude. If he pans out, that's going to be one of the great train robberies this organization has pulled off.

You take me discussing Asplund's future with someone else as trolling, then jump in with incessant Trump-like name calling. Have no issue walking away from that.
