There some rule I don’t know about where you have to sniff really loud in the stall to let the dude who just walked in the bathroom know you are in there taking a sh¡t as if we can’t smell it like what is this passive aggressive posturing you are in a bathroom dude? - BeadyEyedDouche

Without looking into it, I know he can play in the AHL after his season ends, but I'm not sure on his playoff eligibility. |

Problem is. He signed his ELC already. Some prospects play on a try out type deal to save one of the ELC years in his deal |

Thanks, his season could end on the 26th of March, probably a little later for playoffs. |

WHAT IS THE CHL-NHL TRANSFER AGREEMENT?
For an NHL draft prospect to leave the QMJHL, WHL or OHL to play minor-league hockey, he must be 20 years old (by Dec. 31 of that season) or have played four seasons in juniors.
Junior players can still leave their junior team beginning at age 18 to play in the NHL. The agreement only prevents players from leaving early to play minor-league hockey. If a player is not going to be playing in the NHL, he must be sent back to his junior team.
Juniors-eligible players may still play up to nine games in the NHL at the beginning of a season as a trial. After nine games, the NHL team can return the player to juniors with no effect on his contract. If a player is kept beyond nine games, his entry-level contract kicks in. If an NHL team keeps a player beyond nine games and later decides to return him to juniors, it can do so, but that still burns his entry-level contract. If a player is returned to juniors, he can't return to the NHL team until his junior team's season ends.

this will be his third year in whl and he is not old enough

The rules are weird and not always easy to figure out. He signed his ELC, but the first year wouldn't burn if he doesn't play 10 NHL games. I believe he'd sign an ATO to play in Roch.

Strange how often good info comes from that source.
"Players who are restricted from playing in the minors during the season are allowed to play in the minors on an amateur contract after their junior team's season ends. The same rules still apply to the player the following season."

So it could be a option to see how he does in the playoffs for Rochester. Could go along way in his development and show him things he needs to work on before Camp next year. |

Like I said, not sure on his playoff eligibility. Would expect him to go there after this season either way.
I think I remember UPL going to Roch after his season, but then not playing in the playoffs.
EDIT:
He would be eligible for the playoffs.
"The Rochester Americans signed goalie Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen (also to be referenced as UPL) to an Amateur Tryout (ATO) after his OHL season came to an end with the Sudbury Wolves. The Wolves were eliminated in the first round of their playoff series.
Luukkonen was drafted 54th overall in the second round of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.
He signed an ATO in order to be eligible to play in the playoffs with the Amerks. He is already signed to his entry level contract with the Sabres and that will begin when the 2019/2020 regular season begins. His contract is also slide eligible which means if he doesn’t play at least 10 regular season or playoff games in the NHL his entry level deal will add another year." |

Thanks, could go along way in helping him learn things that will help him next year at camp. And saves the option of sending him to juniors again. Maybe help push Adams to make some decisions a little quicker that will need to be made in the offseason. |

Agreed, that's why I was wondering about the playoffs. Could really help him and open Adams eyes if he does well. |

I don't pay a ton of attention to the AHL, but it feels like they run into heavy vet teams every year in the playoffs. Won't be easy on him. |

No it won't be easy, but that's what I want to see how he handles that. Learning experience |

Good post
I'm expecting a slow roll, doubt he gets more then a few games next year in buffalo. Savoie could force his way into the lineup and open eyes with a nice playoff run in Rochester. |

Think it would be good for him playing some AHL playoffs, maybe learn some things he needs to work on before next camp. |
