Well opinions on the trade aside, Horvat is here...so what do we think the lines look like?

Parise-Horvat-Barzal(?)
Lee-Nelson-Palmieri (that line has been on fire, no reason to switch that up)
Bailey-Pageau-Holmstrom
Martin-Cizikas-Fasching
Clutterbuck

Is what I think would make sense...I guess? I see no reason to keep Barzal at center. Horvat is better on the draw. Although I guess Horvat could just take face-offs and then technically play the wing.

I think Bailey has found a home on the 4th line with CC and MM.

You guys are trying awfully hard to hit 1000 posts again huh? Not like anything is going on.

Who was the troll Canucks fan that used to come in here and try to (frank) with us? He was a riot. Was it because of the ice at Barclays or the Coli?

Yeah either Barzal or Horvat on the wing. I assume both will be attempted unless they hit pay dirt with whatever they start with. The rest of the lines are well… interchangeable so to speak.

Vukota got 6 months because that dude is a Toronto fan, plain and simple. The funniest thing is that most of the Leaf fans hate that guy too.

Bailey on that line…may just work?? Pageau is one of the guys on the team that actually shoots and Holmstrom doesn’t seem to mind shooting. I just question having a guy that soft on a line with two guys like that.

Roger has been mysteriously absent since last years playoffs. I assume he’ll reappear if this is the Leafs big year to make it out of the first round.

Haven’t been over there in awhile…they’re not predicting the order on who carries the Cup this year yet are they?

I mean the Lee-Nelson-Palmieri line has been their best line for a few games now by a wide margin. I'd keep that top-six together.

The playoff chances are remote at best. What that leaves us with is; we've traded a cond 1st rd pick, Raty and Beau for the rights to negotiate a contract with Bo Horvat.
Risky pool for a team that has been unable lure big name free agents in the past.

- keaner17

Just my guess, but I think they'll re-sign him. Lou isn't Garth Snow and I don't think this will be a repeat of the Vanek situation.

I guess my concern is how that contract looks three or four years from now if it turns out the core of this team had its best run already. Now you start thinking of all the assets burned and if they really were used wisely.

I know enough to know that I don't know Maybe this guy turns out to be amazing, Palmieri becomes the guy we thought we traded for, Wahlstrom blossoms into a legit scorer who doesn't really have rocks for brains, Lee and Nelson play at their best well into their 30s, the D returns to its dominant form, etc. Maybe this group's best years are still ahead of it. I just feel like there's at least an equal chance that the opposite is true. It's a risky move, is all I'm saying.

My guess is:

Horvat-Barzal-Holmstrom
Lee-Nelson-Palmieri
Parise-Pageau-Bailey
Martin-Cizikas-Fasching

Horvat takes all the draws.

Weeeelllll...

I'll say this, and it'll be easier to type: It wouldn't completely shock me if this group did have one last gasp in it. And if it does, I'm sure having Horvat along for the ride will help them make the most of it. I just wouldn't bet my life savings on it.

Love the lineup…..wouldn’t change a thing. Although I’d love to find a home for Bailey not on the island.

Pretty sure Horvat played worlds on barzals line

It’s possible. Stranger things have happened. I think when you factor in how susceptible these guys are to injuries these days it becomes a bit more bleak. They will really need the stars in line to make it happen.
