Doesn't matter, you have to maintain some order in these threads when things get out of control. You can let things go only so far. Have to remind people from time to time it's still a hockey site. |

Philly didn’t play well on defence all game, blaming it on one call is pointless. KC outclassed them, great game. - neem55
Also, reversing the Fumble which lead to a TD was BS as well. He caught it, had full control with two feet on the ground and got hit while turning to run. |

So there's chatter a Schenn deal may be close? Price is a 3rd+? |

It’s expected but then again some think he’ll get an extension.
What’s the plus a prospect?

Both defences looked suspect and when did I say the one call cost the game? Just said it was a poor call and a crappy way to end the game.

I don't see any reason to give him an extension over getting ANY draft pick compensation

Wait, because I think Schenn is a rental player (cause he is) and more valuable to the canucks organization getting any draft pick (which he is) now I'm trolling?
I'm here to discuss the canucks, not the leafs. I think Schenn is better served as trade bait for anything where the canucks are today, then resigning him. He can be re-signed in the off season to you know? But with an extra draft pick in hand.

I think they can re-sign him in the off season after trading him at the TDL. But if he goes to CGY he may end up staying there. |

Bruins don't have a 2nd this year, Calgary/NJ will probably want to extend him for a 2nd.

Maybe Nucks send to NJ and as part of the deal they get Future Considerations (get to talk to Severson early). Canucks have been reported to have interested in the guy, and he is a pretty good defender. Though I doubt we should be looking to sign a soon to be 29 yo. |

If he was to sign an extension in Vancouver today, why would being traded to Calgary change that? Wouldn't he just goto FA and sign there no matter where he finishes this season?
Hopefully if it is Calgary they pay a hefty price then!

That would be an internal discussion, trade him at TDL and then bring him back. But he plans to bring his wife and kids where-ever he is traded. It is never a guarantee that she is willing to come back.
Look at Brady, his wife told him to retire, he did, then he came back and she divorced him. At his age, family has a lot of say in what he does as a player, and he only comes back here after this TDL if he retires here IMO. |

Well Brady is 44 and had done everything by that point. Schenn wants to make a few more paychecks I think.

Awful.
poopty call end of the game too. - LordHumungous
Player admitted he held him and admitted yes it was a penalty. Big stones on the player but that was convincing enough for me when they admit it was.

Agreed, but with a family, he has to think of them. Constantly moving around to chase a paycheck isn't always worth it.
"He has signed 7 contracts worth a total value of $33,425,000"
He doesn't NEED the money exactly. He has 2 cup rings. He likely wants to find a spot where he can play a few more seasons before calling it a career. His wife will have a major say in where that is. |

He lives in Kelowna, he'd probably like Calgary if he was getting traded.
