Lou has just bought himself some of the best stern looks in hockey.

Fine, but let's be honest for a second....

Look at the boxes it checks for the Islanders.

27y/o stud center.
Big boost to the PP scoring.
Team starts with possession on the PP 65% of the time.
Bonified 30+ goal scorer.
Able to handle top line minutes.
Playoff stud.
Kills penalties.
Starts with possession on the PK majority of the time.

Do you ever get tired of making stuff up?! quite a Sunday brewing here!

What am I making up?

Linden quit rather then continue to publicly support Benning doing aqua's bidding. I'm pretty sure that has been established.
Are you suggesting Benning did an alright job after linden left?

I was just clowning around. Bo is a pretty decent addition for the Isles but like SMP mentioned they are handcuffed in other areas.

If they miss the playoffs like most are predicting because the teams ahead of them are so much better,,,, then in that scenario they most likely fall further. So that very well may end up providing them with a very good player with their lottery pic.

If they don't get a 1st round pick this summer, it will hurt. No doubt about it.

The weird ex scout Grant McCagg has said this draft past the top 15 is not as good as many think. Similar to the 2015 draft.

Hextall's name is mentioned on Twitter a few times here what he is saying.

Ron Hextall does not understand the situation he is in, at all.

You're all in, dude. That's what those extensions were.

So Horvat not a rental.

Settles that...

- boonerbuck

makes you wonder why this big brain front office didn't let his agent speak with teams. I thought it was a good move because maybe Ho was dead set on hitting free agency or asking for $9M or something.

This contract is probably close to what multiple teams would've paid in July for him anyway(minus the 8th year, so maybe few hundred K higher AAV

Yeah, Pitt should be swinging for it, Crosby/Malkin/Letang are on their last legs

I feel like JR wants to do it but won't only because everyone's been predicted that deal since the day he got hired.

No way we could get kapanen for Boeser. That would be a home run

Barzal and Horvat makes them pretty strong down the middle. We'll see if it handcuffs them. At least Lu is building from the middle out.... only a retard would build around the wingers....

Yup. I would be surprised if Boeser wouldn’t clear waivers. A Kapanen Boeser type swap is exactly what they should be looking for to shed one of their worst salaries. Need to find an old and desperate GM

Miller, Kuzmenko, Boeser, Beauvillier, Mikheyev, Lekkerimaki, Klimovich, Podkolzin, Hoglander....

Those are all recent additions, or re-signings and what the team is trying to develop in Abby.

The team has invested drastically on wingers while parting with a very good, just entering his prime center. So most of their effort has been on the position of wings while the team got weaker down the middle.

No need to explain why they traded Bo. It's been gone over a million times and I was one of the only people who accepted he needed to be traded back in the fall because they signed Miller and Boeser instead. Miller will now play in the middle... but no one is fooled into thinking he is a good center anymore. He'll be a winger playing C....

Miller was a better center than bo last year. Don’t be a goldfish. Let’s see how it plays out.

Funny how your brutal short term "what have you done for me lately" always plays into your barking posts but you go the other way with miller.

Miller is a terrible center. Last season good goaltending and a better effort from their D helped hide his terrible two way play not to mention he was out scoring his issues. Not this season, the step back in those two team categories puts light on him. He is exposed.

If any player can be pointed at as having a "one of season",,, anyone with 2 brain cells to rub together can see it was Miller. The fact that others around him can still track towards having a career season on this poop team while he takes a step back is quite concerning to me, especially with that monster contract not even kicking in yet.

That's what happens when you bank on a winger to be your top C like they did.
