He is a p$ssy. Great dude but major problem in the room. He should fit in well on the Island as they have some real leaders and he can just relax and focus on hockey. He is not a leader. Honestly he should have never been made captain and that’s on the organization. All parties are getting a fresh start which is great. Pouty is the captain we deserve 🤣🤣

It was only weeks ago(not months) that you claimed that Horvat was not the problem in the room... Petey was.

An individual reports trade interest from multiple teams in a player. What follows is a rash of outlets reporting that "said person has claimed there are multiple teams interested in a player". People like you then say "well that's multiple outlets so there must be something to it". In reality it's still one person's rumor being reported by many. Good grief... this is not complicated.

I agree, it isn’t. Multiple sources is more of an indicator than one, some journalists are more credible than others. All of them more credible than you or any other fan.

Quite honestly, I have no idea why they named a captain back then, it was something totally unnecessary at the time, just like it is unnecessary now.
Zero reason for any bottom feeder to name a captain, but yes, #Poutyisthecaptainwedeserve.

This argument has steered away from what I originally was trying to say about all the supposed interest and you mocking people about Boeser not having value. The interest if real could very well be because of salary retention and sweeteners. That doesn't contradict a player not having value when you have to pile on to move him.

It's like when I tried to sell an older truck I had. No one was interested. I threw on a set of 35" BFG Mud Terrain tires I had and the truck sold the day after I posted it. After the value of the tires was subtracted, I only got a small bump of money for the truck. It was still a loss.... but less of a loss. I didnt claim otherwise either...

The whole letter thing is not about the dressing room. People need to understand that. Leaders lead and followers gravitate towards them regardless of the letter.

They gave Bo the letter because that's who the young guys were looking up to before hand and Bo handled the pressure and was very professional with media and the off rink charity etc... They probably looked up to some of the older guys as well but management wanted the C on a certain age group. Not too young and not old to the point that they wouldn't be around long enough.

It's not like once the C is assigned, there is rules that they cant look up to a better leader in the room. It's a letter for fuk sakes, not a newly anointed king's crown.

Letters don’t make leaders.
Leaders make letters.
Not enough letters to go around if a team is good there are more leaders than there is letters. More the better.

Horvat dropping some shade:

After Horvat's goal, the crowd gave him a standing ovation, greeting him with a "HOR-VAT! HOR-VAT!" cheer. He could savor the moment as he sat on the bench while his name was called by the public address announcer as the goal scorer.

"It was pretty amazing," Horvat said of the chants that followed the goal. "I haven't had a chant like that in a building, that loud, I don't think ever, so that was pretty amazing."

IKR... I've explained credible journalism to people on here and the other thread over so many years I don't know why I bother. The concept is lost in recent decades.

Example: A popular news outlet on TV reports that a "unnamed source" has informed them that (insert political opponent or rival nation) is doing (insert baseless accusation).

No source. No documents. No video evidence. No testimony. Nothing, just a baseless report... yet one by one the other news agencies report that said outlet is reporting that _________. They of course fail to mention that the report was delivered completely baseless. People then claim that "it came from journalists".... in fact they are wrong... it came from a talking head reading a teleprompter. The person who wrote the report isn't even on record and remains nameless so there is zero credibility to this so called journalism. Do people recognize this as non journalism? No. Where there is smoke there is fire.... failing to understand that there isn't even smoke.

Later through intelligence comity hearings, or trials/tribunals, or said agencies that were reported as anonymously leaking their info deny ever having any information to support the report come to the surface but to the end of time people still believe the initial propaganda piece and repeat it til their dying day.

Society doesn't know the difference between journalism vs propaganda or click bait for monitory gain. We are (frank)ed....

lol true story just take a good look in here and around. 80% of people get their daily direction from CBC CTV and Global to run their daily lives. And the weird thing is they truly believe that the 'journalists' and MSM have their best interests in mind. The scam of the War in Ukraine is another perfect example of what's reported in the media is not actually what's happening over there. Gullible and mass psychosis all at the same time.

Journalist being called credible is something I thought to only hear in the political thread to support the official narrative.

Big game tonight, 5-2 Rangers

Beauvillier and Stillman with the goals.

Trouba blows up a Canuck, with another 1 of his devastating hits.

Why should Schenn have to scrap, he doesn't wear a letter, it is Pouty or Hughes job to do the responding.

The days of sports journalism being anything more than just rumour repeat ended with the Tony Gallagher days. Before him true sports journalist like Jim Coleman printed stories and created poopstorms based on digging for news and working the typewriter. Now someone says something on a blog, like Ek and it gets spread like the gospel around the world in seconds, and taken as "journalistic proof"

Great analogy of polishing a turd to recoup some capital.
