do you and nyrangers9479 want everyone to moan and never get over the Buchnevich trade though?
what is the point, what do you guys want, I think everybody here is looking forward to rooting for another long playoff run - jimbro83
You engaged him with this topic. I talked around it by laughing/enjoy a video of Buchnevich laughing like a dork and Kreider being shocked he had a weird teammate at the time. Do you have short term memory issues? |

Barclay and Blais pretty much make up Buch's salary if we're really answering that question. That's not to make an argument for or against anything. Just the answer to that one question - picklerick
I hate having to repeat myself because Ive said it multiple times, but the plan was to sign Danault after the traded Buchnevich and it failed, he chose the Kings
but, OMG, I can't believe we have to keep going over it

I would love to have Gallant play that line more, but I wonder if he's just trying to get a 2nd line or 3rd, however you prefer, to gel before the playoffs. If it stays the same and the kid line is still playing great and Gallant gives them limited minutes in the playoffs, he will have finally lost me. - mdw7413
But that's not how that should work is it? The kids still need to get to that next level too. They need ample playing time together as much as anyone else. GG is so frustrating to me not because he gets everything so wrong but because he gets it just off enough from what seems like the reasonable choice that it's like... "Dude you had it. It was right there." |

I didn't really, somebody else actually said the Rangers should have signed Motte and dumped Blais, and I commented that going into the season the Rangers still had high hopes for Blais

I'm not re-litigating anything. I just gave what i thought was the most reasonable answer to that question that was asked. The trade is long in the past and we have what we have. There's not much sense in looking at it anymore

Well if you took the time in cap friendly you’ll see we can barely fit Miller Chytil and Laf without Buch, or goodrow for that matter. Either way he isn’t the answer
Not trying to a dyck just saying that one of the 3 this summer would be gone I think |

TBH it should be Goodrow. He's a great soldier and does a lot of good things but what he does can be replaced by 2 or 3 guys on much lower combined contracts. That's never going to happen but.. you know. Just replying to the things being put out there |

Yeah, I agree. I love me the kid line. I'm just trying to get into Gallants head and what he might be thinking. Whatever happens we will need three lines going into the playoffs. |

He gets PK time. I mean together, as a line. They should be getting 2nd line minutes. The Trochek third line should be just that. The third line. They're all vets who know what they need to do and have been doing it for a long time. I would never want that line taking minutes from the kids line. AGAIN.. just responding to what's being posited by people |

Goodrow and Trochek both better be clutch in the playoffs, Goodrow played last year's playoffs with a cracked ankle, but we really need him to come through in big spots like he has in the past

ohhhhhhhh yeah, lets re-litigate the Blais-Buchnevich deal one more time - jimbro83
maybe Buchnevich and Blais can get together and watch Ranger playoff games on TV, I think Buch will have that free time - jimbro83
sure! why not, there's gotta be something new nobody has said yet - jimbro83
and (frank)ing BLOCKING one of our two top 2 draft picks? with his ONE CAREER playoff goal - jimbro83
So this isn't you? Or yes you have short term memories issues? I avoided for two pages by laughing at Kreider and Buch talking magnets and talking about the Miami vice theme ASG jersey. You should probably stop being your own bogyman |

I agree but it wouldn’t matter lol. Buch means we’d lose miller or Chytil.
Tbh, I think the prayers will be answered next year with him because I think he may have to be traded just to get those 3 in and finish the roster. He has a 15 team list I think so it’s not impossible |

They seem to be valued as highly as their contracts would suggest because they are playoff performers. So yea, they need to be big pieces in the playoffs or it's all for nothing. That's $9m+ on 2 guys, one of whom isn't really a point getter. They need to do all the other things that make a team hard to play against in the playoffs at an elite level. Or else, get Goody's non-NMC having ass outta here. He gets a pass for last playoffs obviously. |

Just me guessing also, I think Gallant wants Zib and Panarin separated. I mean if they had the Zib line like last year, the kid line and then find someone that can fit with a Panarin line, that would be optimal. |

yep, people are rushing to hate Trochek already too, gotta give him a playoff run and not just October-February of year 1 of his contract

I want the kid line together, the Zib line like last year and the same for Panarin. Get three lines that are threats. |

You’re 100% right, I still haven’t gotten over how terrible of a trade that was. Said it from the moment it happened. I think I’ll be happy/more over it when Blais is finally gone. And I’m not saying Buch would still be here, but we could’ve gotten more for him than what we did, Drury felt he had to make a move and he blundered terribly on that one. |

Let's just agree to never mention that name in the context of that trade ever again. I love his magnet loving goofy ass as much as any ranger in history and am happy to talk about the good times. Or what he's up to now. Just not the trade or anything resulting from it. That is unless a time comes where Drury has made several terrible trades with that one being the first in a long line. Then we can burn it all to the ground |
