For one first a 2024 3rd and two throw ins the blues added nice depth to the back end with the big guy and Tarasenko.
Tarasenko has been far from great with soldi line mates, but in one swoop rangers shopping is done. - wiz1901
And the Blues took Blais and his 1.5 mil salary along with retaining 3.7 mil of Tank's cap hit. ...... If I'm the Blues I'm still satisfied with a 1st rd pick in this yrs deep draft and a next yrs 3rd if NYR makes the playoffs this yr.

I think Hawk writer Charlie The Greek is minimizing Kane's hip injury or at least its perception around the league.
On an episode of a post allstar game 32 Thoughts Friedman quotes a couple players as saying they "can tell Kane isn't right and that he's struggling with an injury and that he's gutting it out". It starts at 46:45 of the podcast. https://www.sportsnet.ca/...landers-owe-us-a-massage/
Injured or not with Kane taking maintenance days, being scratched a couple games recently, his production down and Friedman hearing/reporting things like he's injured easy to think the perception around the league concerning Kane's "injury" is not good or conducive to him being sought after and even if he is, combined with his probable narrow list of acceptable destinations, the return dwindles with each passing day.
Kane and his camp's dragging their feet as he "ponders" while teams, two close to home NY clubs so far, fill needs with top 6 players like Horvat and Tarasenko is further handcuffing KD who already had limited leverage.
Expectations should probably be reduced for Hawk fans. - Mr Ricochet
This is why I always start with no expectations. Then anything that does happen is a pleasant surprise!!

If I'm NYR Tank is a rental and it cost me a late 1st and a 2024 3rd for a legit top 6 winger and a realistic shot at going deep in the playoffs. Big upgrade to the top 6 replacing guys like Jimmy Vesey, who's been skating top 6, and it also strengthens the bottom 6 allowing guys like Vesey to be slotted properly.
Also cheaper than Kane's cap hit and without the worry if he's healthy or not.

Hawks getting nothing for Kane possibly - RaleighHawk
Hawks will get a 1st for Kane that is closer to a 2nd .Towes will bring in a 2nd and good prospect .McCabe could bring back a 1st Domi and Laferty should bring back 2nd and or 3rd . picks and prospects or bad contracts to help getting to the floor. Excited to see how it all falls out . |

I like the trade proposal. My hatred for the Loafs has waned over the years with them not in our division, so I’d like to see Kane enjoy a long run depending on the team he ends up with…assuming he’s even traded of course.

Watching Kane's HOF career with the Hawks I think it's reasonable for a fan to expect at least a fair return, whatever that is. What is fair is the question. A healthy Kane fair to expect at least a 1st. A questionably heathy Kane with reduced production (whatever the reason), limited and dwindling destinations as he drags his feet while the deadline approaches not as much.
Not only is it not good for the Hawks but for Kane either if indeed he wants to pick the best option for a real run at the cup. .......... Once Meir goes it further reduces possibilities.

call Buffalo and see if they feel like they are making the playoffs and then offer Kane to Carolina, New Jersey and Colorado respectively. |

What does calling Buffalo have to do with trading Kane to Carolina, New Jersey or Colorado? |

Hawks getting nothing for Kane possibly - RaleighHawk
Or he goes on LTIR soon. Hawks have a boatload of cap room before the TDL and trade for a big contract and other asset(s). Kane is not ready to play until mid season next year. He is a free agent. If Hawks draft Bedard or Fantili maybe Kane resigns. Or he finds a better situation with a true cup contender. |

If it is the hip, wonder if Kane is trying to postpone it for as long as possible., thinking he might never come back? Remember Seabrook and his hip surgeries?

Panarin gets happy. I believe he was in Tarasenko's wedding. |

I hear ya not that my hatred for the Leafs has died down but my Nephew has been a die hard fan forever so it be nice if Kane or Towes was a long for the ride I think I could stomach it a little more . And also tease him that he needed the Hawks to help them out .And steal some young prospects picks for the win . |

Think the Rangers panicked and weren't sure what Kane was going to do
https://twitter.com/emily...YSCih6LAnWSFIC4p0Ezg&s=01
I think the hip comment is like, oh yea and we were concerned....
Kudos to the Islanders creating this situation - BetweenTheDots
I guess it really comes down to 1 thing....in Kane's current spot with his bad hip, can he pass a physical? Can he pass a physical at the deadline and/or could he pass one upon signing his deal? Would the new team signing doc think he would make a full recovery? Have to figure hips are common in hockey so teams should know based on reports where a guy stands.....
From there...teams have and likely will continue to reach out to Kane's camp and express interest....agent relays that to kane....Kane then decides out of that group of team(s) who he would waive for...and then Davidson works to see if he can get it done. Same for Toews. NOt worried about that side, or the fact that the Rangers balked at supposed asking price because we are still weeks out. Of course Davidson is asking high...and lets not forget....Taresenko asked to be traded back in 2021...so this was LONG overdue

KD is holding out for too much. He was offered two 2nds for Toews but wanted more. |

I wonder if NYR passing him up and trading for Tank will light a fire under Kane's rear end? Maybe even expand the list of teams he's willing to go to for fear of missing out on a chance to make a run for the cup? |
