Matters what we'd get him for. The bottom 6 is in major flux for next season. Okposo may not return, Gus may not either. Krebs may go to 3C, Jost may go to 4C, either of them can play wing and bottom 9. There's a place for Jenner, especially next season. |

My 2 cents, for what it’s worth.
Cozens deal was not under market value, IMO. Neither was the Tage deal at the time.
My biggest question is does Dahlin take an under market value deal to:
1- keep this train rolling
2- position the Sabres to go after a Meier type
3- not create friction with the Tage deal (ie, Dahlin gets 10.5 per and a couple years down the road Tage feels slighted as he’s leading the league)
4- if you truly love where you play, what’s the difference between being stupid rich and being stupid rich? Does 1-2 mil make that big of a difference when you’re already a multi millionaire? It is worth breaking a smalll market team? |

I bet Dahlin takes Makar money. Like Makar's value at signing.

We need a serious upgrade on toughness on bottom 6 |

Now that we all understand what we all mean by toughness without the necessity to elaborate (I hope), yes, we do.
And I strongly believe Kevo knows it. |

I mentioned that too. Cozens and tage are on point with their peers within a millionish dollars

I really hope he takes a 9-9.5 per or we’re going to have a serious compression issue on our hands |

Without the addition of a Timo I don't believe this team has a long term cap issue.
I ran an estimate with Timo in it for a few years down the line and it looks like we'd need to be building a base cost bottom 3. It's possible and easy if they can shed jeff the last couple years of his deal.
That comes with current projections and not categoric jumps from Quinn, Peterka, Krebs et al |

Cap aside, as I agree, the compression I’m referring to is once you introduce a massive salary like 10-11 mil, naturally all other salaries that follow go up. This will probably create an issue down the road for Tage, as we will be paying average players 6-7 mil in a couple years if we give Dahlin the farm. |

He’s still on a 60 point pace. But one game sample size matters more, I guess - SDSabre
I've never claimed to not bring reinfart up?
Guy sucks ballz.
Wow 60 point season 😀
17 regular season goals 8 of which were pp
-13 for the season
Olofsson 23 goals 18 of which were even strength
Picked 179 picks later and makes almost 2 million less

I see what you're saying but I don't believe that to be true. All of these negotiations are current market value for like players.
So just because you pay a norris caliber defenseman 10M doesn't mean you need to pay Bryson 4 million.
yes salaries inch up over time of course, especially with revenues increasing. In three years we're probably looking at 88-90M cap. I wouldn't be too worried about paying Dahlin a fair/lightly team friendly deal. I'll plant my flag on 9.5M

Problem is maker's deal is 6 years I believe for 9 million?
Dahlin needs to be maxed and will be.
I'd be super disappointed if it's less then 8 years.
