So who do you want to get rid of in order to fit timo Meier under the cap long term?
No power? No Dahlin? Who is leaving to fit him in long term - Sabretooth9

Ah that's a bummer. I've got plans to see them this year but always nice when you've got more high level prospects to see. Part of me would be surprised to see Savoie in the CHL again next year, how much do you really gain from going against kids that much younger than you? But if it's best for his development you do it - Zschalberg
It's a stupid rule. Neither option is best for his development. No clue what they'll decide.

Our best additions next year are (theoretically) going to be the jump that Quinn and Peterka are going to make. No need to part with either for Chickenman - we have plenty to get it done without them. - Slump Buster
You are entitled to your opinion. I don't hold the same one especially since I am not just talking a trade for a specific player. I just want virtually every prospect (unknown ability) available for a trade for a legitimate established NHLer who can add significantly to the team this season (known ability). Certainty over possibility. Not saying they should use them in exchange for rentals but for players that can end up here long term its time to get off the pot in my opinion. |

If Peterka is used to get Timo, then it was a good draft pick regardless. I’m trading Peterka over Quinn. Quinn has a better shot and gets more scoring chances. I don’t know about Peterka. He hasn’t looked good in a while. Goalofsson has dry spells, but you know he has a shot that can beat any goalie in the league and you’re not getting much of a net gain in goals scored by replacing him with Timo. Timo for Peterka is a massive gain. Timo, Cozens and Quinn? Even if they pay him 9 mil. What’s Pasta gonna get? Cozens and Timo are like getting Bergeron and Pasta at a discount. - Hatboro_Swords
That is the type of thinking I am in line with. Again, it is always just my opinon.

How do you know what he is shooting for? You work for the Sabres? If not, you can think what you want but don't pretend you know anything. It's a bad look. - sabrebuzz
Adams is trying to add without selling the farm.
Aka not pulling a Tim murray |

Cozens takes okposos money for next year. So swap salaries basically
Olofsson I can see. Fine that is 5 mill
Where can we save 4 mill? You can’t get rid of half the roster for 1 player |

That’s fine. You can believe what you want.
I don’t see Timo coming here or a big splash.
With the way trades have been going. The sellers have gotten destroyed in 2 trades and haven’t gotten much in returns |

Fans could careless about a significant trade
How did bringing in Taylor hall go with the box office? What about Eric staal? How did that workout
Sustained winning for a decently long period of time. That is what will bring people back - Sabretooth9
I don't know if you know this but you don't get to speak for the "Fans". I know a lot of fans who think like I do. Yet I don't presume to speak for anyone other than myself. And as far as equating a move or set of moves to Taylor that is just blattently idiotic. Teams make the types of trades I am talking about to get them over the hump for the playoff push all the time. Look at the two major trades that have happened in the last few days. Especially non-sensical comment since I am not placing names on the trades I want them to make. I just want them to make a trade that is designed to help them to take a legitimate run at the playoffs. Again, my personal opinion, but one that I FEEL is shared by many fans who have had crap teams for the majority of 12 years and want a team that is at least in the running until the last day of the regular season. |

Even with Cozens deal the Sabres are still about 2m under the floor next year. The year after they are 26m under the floor. Other than like 3 or 4 players everyone is signed for next year. Sabres could give Dahlin a 10m Avv which kicks in in 2yrs and depending on who else they sign could still be 12 to 15m under the cap in 2yrs having Dahlin signed and that's including Timo in there at 9m Avv. As long as the Sabres keep there flow of prospects coming up through the bottom 6 they really shouldn't have a problem with there cap for atleast 5yrs and by them the Cap should be 90-92m or higher. |

Not sure why you're saying they have to subtract 9m to fit Meier. It likely means you don't extend VO, but it doesn't mean any more, until you're about 4 years out and talking about extensions for guys coming off ELC's/bridges + Tuch. I'd hope a Tuch extension isn't limiting them this soon.

He's not turning 27 until this fall.
If he'd accept a 7 year deal, it'd be until he's 33.
Not sure that changes your viewpoint.

Certainly helps. Less potential bad years. It's why I like the Cozens and Tage deals. Every year should be that players best years |

Although I think Vegas really likes him. |

You want to give up Ostlund for a Girgs upgrade? They'd take that and run.

46 games 13 goals 7 assists. For carrier.
Not girgensons #'s
I would think he could bump peterka or put them into a healthy rotation with quinn and krebs
Trading a 28 year old vet for last year's late 1st rounder?
I think it's closer then you think |

Thats ridiculous. Ostlund is lighting it up against men in the Swedish League. He has 22 points in 29 games where Letterimaki a higher ranked prospect who plays on the same team has 9 points.
The only reason Ostlund went where he went is scouts though he didn't have an NHL level shot and he worked on it this year. His IQ, Skating and playmaking is top notch.
Ostlund is probably the best player out of Kulich, Savoie and Rosen.
You want to trade away him for a grinder with a 3rd or 4th rounder
Here is his highlights. Dude is gonna be a good one.

I thought the rankings were:
Savoie
Kulich
Ostlund
Rosen
Just an opinion. Would be against the odds if 2 of these guys were actual good nhl producers.

I remember the days where we hung all of our hopes on one or two kids that were nowhere near their caliber. Crazy how much we have coming.
