Honest question, what could he do to prove hes good enough to do tough GM'n?
Hes made some good trades, hes made some not so good trades, but hes had some good signings

For me, good GMing is when you trade a Phil Kessel because he doesn't fit the make up of the team. (he was too soft for their philosophy). Boston stays competitive because they make tough moves with star players, poop they did it with Sequin and Hamilton and recouped a ton doing it.
The "tough" trades are the ones where you take a hard look at top 6 forwards and top 4 defensemen, even if they're young, and move them to fix the culture or the balance of the team....even if that player moves on and becomes a HoFer in 10 years the move was made at the time to IMPROVE the TEAM.
Good GMing to me happens more when they are not coveting players because they are stars, but trading stars to make a better overall team....whether fans want it or not.
Dubas has made some moves, nothing tough though.
