MLB draft/picks is a totally different thing, slotting $$ etc.. teams will pass over a good player if they know he wont sign..also you cant trade picks in MLB.. probably add more unknown and randomness

All I know about the NBA is gleaned from my cousins when we see each other at some family gatherings and there just seems to be way more poopty picks in the 1st round than good...but maybe that's just me not knowing anything about the sport.

yeah I don't pay attention to prospects or picks or whatever but maybe that's why they trade first rounders like candy. Because the known the player in the league is better than the draft.

My apologies, i read it incorrectly.
Honestly it think the raps overpaid for poeltl as well.
But he is what they lacked and if they move out og or fvf, they will recoup the outgoing picks.
They just better resign him.
