This would suggest that the Blues are either retaining salary on Tarasenko, or another player off the Rangers active roster is part of the deal.

See what the haul is but if it’s a first and an A prospect than they can have him.

I guess the 1st is unprotected and the centerpiece of the trade for St. Louis. But still, the Rangers are likely to not only make the playoffs, but have enough success in them that this pick will be a late 1st rounder. I know it's reputed to be a deep draft, but does that extend all the way through the first round???

It was a first and prospect according to athletic but idk what they actually moved. Nevermind I see it now

Yeah but he did play 75g last year and had 82 pts (34g). He's having a bit of a down year but come on. Mikkola is a steady bottom pairing guy too. They gave that up for a 4th rd prospect, a 4th line stiff, a 4th rd pick and a late 1st rounder a month ahead of thw deadline.
